Comedian and frequent Joe Rogan guest Dave Smith has apologized for supporting President Donald Trump, and is now calling for his impeachment.
Smith, who hosts libertarian podcast Part of the Problem, said that he felt betrayed by Trump over his policy on Iran.
"I supported him ... I apologize for doing so," he said during an appearance on the Breaking Points podcast. "He should be impeached and removed."
Why It Matters
Smith's comments come as Trump supporters criticize his response to recent military escalations in the Middle East. The backlash follows an Israeli airstrike last week targeting Iran's nuclear facilities, triggering a series of missile exchanges between the two nations.
Trump, who campaigned against getting involved in "endless wars," has supported Israel's actions. On Truth Social, he warned Iran that if the U.S. is attacked, "the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before."
What To Know
Smith, who once supported Trump for his vow to end "forever wars," now calls the president's stance "an absolute betrayal of everything that he ran and campaigned on—and everything he has stood for."
"He is going to lose his coalition over this," Smith warned.
He also criticized Trump's apparent willingness to reenter talks with Iran despite the ongoing violence. "Donald Trump telling [Iran] to come back to the negotiating table now is a joke. I mean, what an impotent leader! To be sitting there talking about coming back to the negotiating table—it's like sitting there after Pearl Harbor and telling FDR now is the time to go negotiate with the Japanese. Negotiations are over now."
Smith's remarks reflect growing anger among former Trump supporters. His March 2025 warning has resurfaced on social media: "If Donald Trump actually does launch a war in Iran, not only will I not support it, I will apologize for the rest of my life for voting for the guy."
The comedian is part of a rising wave of Trump-aligned voices turning against the president over the strikes. On Monday, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson said that if the U.S. is pulled into a war with Iran, it could mean the "end" of Trump's presidency—and "the American empire."
The violence has already taken a heavy civilian toll. Iranian officials report at least 224 people killed since Friday, with more than 1,200 injured—many in strikes targeting military and government sites. Human rights groups believe the real death toll may be even higher.
In Israel, at least 24 people have died and more than 500 have been injured during the same period. In Petah Tikva, five civilians were killed when Iranian missiles struck a residential building.

If he did, what's Tuck's movement? None. He doesn't have one.
If we're not careful, we end up giving a movement to the left which no one sane wants and definitely not Tuck.

Impeachment isn't for policy disagreements. I don't want war with Iran either but that's retarded.
