I was a freshman in High School when this went down and I've never forgotten what they did to the US. While I don't wish for war, if we have to go in I hope we give them the proper payback for the hostages and the failed rescue attempt where they dragged the bodies of dead US Soldiers from that failed attempt.

Again. Why are we constantly fricking with those people?

quote:

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has repeatedly intervened in the internal affairs of Iran, from the Mosaddegh coup of 1953 to the present day. The CIA is said to have collaborated with the last Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Its personnel may have been involved in the Iran-Contra affair of the 1980s. More recently in 2007-8 CIA operatives were claimed to be supporting the Sunni terrorist group Jundallah against Iran, but these claims were refuted by a later investigation.

Nothing is happening so far and since that incident the world has still survived many conflicts.

No one wants to face the uncomfortable truth that most of our foreign policy problems are our own doing

The CIA also took out a duly elected president of Ukraine and installed Zelensky.

They tried to overthrow Castro. They assassinated Kennedy. They took out Nixon. They nearly killed Trump. Twice. They will try again.

I was around for all of it. God bless Trump. May he survive and prosper. For us.

I was in college at the time. Each situation is different and has to be treated as such.

I was a freshman in high school, too, and felt ashamed for our country. With that said, the only thing I’m focused on now is us not escalating our involvement any more in this mess.

I was 24. Draft registration was reactivated and we felt that we would be at war soon.
