Once this restarts, you go Evans. He’s been the best you’ve had following KA and AE. You don’t concern yourself with “can he get us 6” and what-ifs. You have a 2 run lead in the marble game of the CWS. You focus on keeping UCLA at 3 runs for as long as you can.

Cooper could be a option.

We have 6 innings to cover. He can get 4-5.

I hear ya and you make good sense but I’m trotting Williams out there then Shores and hope we extend the lead. Try and save Evans as much as possible

Exactly. Don’t screw around and throw someone like Noot out there to get singled to death and walk 4 batters like someone else suggested.

Shores makes more sense

He threw less than Evans and has been absolutely nails in his last few outings.

You'll know within the first 10 pitches if Shores is locating or not then go straight to Evans if he's not

I like the Cooper then Shores approach. Hopefully we are saving Noot and Evans for Wednesday.

Shores only threw 3 less pitches. I’m good with Shores, Evans, even Cooper Williams.

Shores has entered the late game, adrenaline junkie, 101 mph one inning assassin role for me.

I wouldn’t mind Coop either.

But, I don’t think JJ will mess around with this. I expect Evans.

Yeah honestly me too man.

Shores is just so hit or miss I like using him first. If he has it then you save your pen. If he doesn't then you'll know quickly and you can go to someone else and then bring shores back next game

With the massive run of lefties in the line up I go Williams.

I’m guessing it’s going to be a combo of Evans, Shores and Williams

I would actually go

Williams 5-6 or even 7
Shores 8
Evans 9

We got a nice lead, 2 of those 3 threw already.

Cowan and maybe Schmidt for an inning should be fine if we can score 4-5 more runs.

I would think you are looking at Williams shore and Evans to get 6 innings.

Noot and Cowen are you starting plan for Wednesday if you win and Eyanson is now available to close that game out if it’s there to win it.

A small ball, hit for contact team like UCLA would absolutely eat Cowan’s lunch. They won’t be fooled by speed. We need to overpower them or throw a bunch of crafty movement at them to induce weak contact, and then field our arse off

I would reverse the order, but the same two guys. If Shores is off, sit him fast and move on. If he’s on, they will have a hard time playing small ball with 98-102. It’s gives us a 2-3 inning window to build a bigger lead since we’re barreling up their pitchers.

Remember- we’ve been hitting everyone lately but one random guy when we got down vs LR and Arkansas’ future draft picks. We will keep scoring.

I agree. I want no part of Cowen in this game.
