I made the mistake of watching Dune 2 in IMAX, not knowing it only had the poor people seats.
Between that and the inconsiderate shithead playing on his phone, it was not an enjoyable experience.

It's their opinion and there's nothing wrong with it. Anecdotal, but I'm work right now and all my coworkers have said it looks dumb.

Every year directors try to do more w/ CGI and less w/ practical effects and every year that CGI just looks worse. Especially when you are trying to show a whole city imploding. San Andreas was on last night and that movie looks like total shite as the city falls apart. Cartoonish even. They must have put the whole budget in the Rock's salary. At least we won't get a D[E]Isney plot.
