And 3 days earlier went 4:23 for the mile. Its just insane that when I was a high schooler I knew a guy who only ran 3 seconds faster than her for 2 miles and was top 5 in Texas and top 15 in US....it was back in the Stone Age though.

Also, DFW area sophomore Cooper Lutkenhaus breaks the high school 800m record - 1:46.26 which had stood for 29 years.

2 mile record

800 record

Big deal. I can get that time with just one mile.

I used it as an example of how fast this girl just ran.

ETA: Fixed it so I don't offend you

Hedengren is insane. Her dad was an all-American at BYU so it's in the genes too. Those Mormons are doing something right

13 year old Camryn Dailey ran the open 400m in 51.67.

She also has already run 11.37 in the 100m and 22.90 in the 200m.

Absolutely amazing times for her age.

Girls didn't dress like that for track when I was in high school and yes, she is 18.

Just three days earlier, the 18-year-old obliterated her fifth U.S. high school record this year, running 4:23.50 in the mile in St. Louis, Missouri.

High school running has gotten absolutely stupid now. It’s fun to be involved with but all I can do is shake my head sometimes.

most state associations don’t allow it I think. Post season competition so she’s good to do whatever she wants

Yea, I'd have trouble just making the varsity team at a lot of schools

Why are kids so much more athletic now? Baseball is the craziest example. Throwing 92-93 used to be a big deal. Now it’s 95 minimum to get anyone’s attention.

In basketball you see guys that are 7 feet tall that can handle the ball, run the floor and can shoot. These people just didn’t exist 25 years ago.
