The hotels on other side of the river are never available. Someone said they are held for teams.

I think teams are assigned by seed now. MS State got angry years ago that Skip was able to choose to stay at the same Embassy Suites by The Drover.
Team hotels are big Hilton by stadium (multiple teams), Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Hyatt Place. I'm sure I'm forgetting one. None stay at Double Tree.
