Premieres June 22nd on Max. Looking forward to seeing the dynamic between Ada and Agnes, the selling of Gladys to the Duke of Buckingham, and most of all I want to see Jack become a successful clock magnate!

Go ahead and change this to a season thread.

I love spicy Agnes.

I watched this while I was watching 1883 & found it fascinating how vastly different people lived back then. Looking forward to season 3!

Done. It wasn't the oomph I was looking for, but I suppose they have to set the season up. No big reveals other than the Fane's divorce which came from nowhere. Nothing big with Larry and Marian. We know what's coming with Gladys and the Russells. A little disappointed with Adelheid, no vision indeed. I can't decide if I want Oscar to get more debauched or actually figure out a way to win his way back in. Glad Jack's story is going to be featured though.

This is a Fellowes joint so, like Downton Abbey, I'd imagine that all of the good folks will get their happy endings, and the shady characters will either learn a lesson or get their due.

I will be pissed if he gets swindled out of the clock deal.

So true. He has played the "Lost a fortune but magically regained it through unexpected inheritance" trope twice already between Gilded Age and Downton. Both times the power shift of the unexpected inheritance has been played for lovable tension. Not to mention the Dowager inheriting a french villa unexpectedly to give an equity balance to young Sybil in the last film. Doesn't dim my enjoyment of it in the least though

As Fewer mentioned.. I think Jack is too virtuous for Fellowes to let his dreams die in the long run. Let's hope he becomes a beneficent clock baron.

I'm predicting that George Russell will get wind of his son's investment and move in to try to take the lion's share. Or Oscar the Slouch will try to weasel in.

Don't forget Lady Edith going from disgraced unmarried mother engaged to a gamekeeper to High Marchioness of Hexham when the gamekeeper finds out he's a Marquess.

The show does a pretty good of interweaving real life stories from that period in with the fictional. Alva Vanderbilt's first marriage ended in a similar fashion, she ended up divorcing him, and also ended up a very rich woman as a result. She then went on to remarry in a love match until he passed. So I'll be curious if it mirrors that one.

Same with Gladys and Consuelo Vanderbilt.

Will definitely be interested in seeing how they go with it as well.

Same. Lots of different ways they could go with that.

I honestly can’t tell if the show runners want me to like Oscar or hate him.

He can be funny and the stuff with Maude Beaton honestly made me feel bad got him.

At the same time they have consistently made him lazy and unimaginative.

I hope so.

Also, no matter how many times I hear it, I cannot accept that Mrs. Russell’s first name is Bertha.

Didn't finish season 2 while it was airing so I've caught up on the last few episodes of season 2.

It's a good show but man I realized why I stopped. This is about the maximum level of soap opera that I can do. The petty drama just gets me. I love Mrs. Russell (I also refuse to believe her name is Bertha I'm just going to go with Claire), but when the biggest drama of the season is whether or not a duke will attend an Opera and who sits where, I have a harder time getting behind it.

The last two episodes of season 2 were pretty strong though. Poor Ada. I wish she could have been happier a little longer, hate that her husband died. Subtly liking the two Russell house employee's who went to the opera together blossoming love story.

I enjoy watching this show with my wife (no pics).

But man, things get resolved so quickly.

**Uncle Luke stands**

"Ah shite, my back."

"You should see a doctor"

Thirty minutes later, he has cancer

An episode later he's dead.

Or

**Oscar loses the family fortune**

"Oh NO!!!"

**thirty minutes later**

"Its ok, Uncle Luke was a secret textile millionaire!"

"Hurray!!!"

We watched the last episode of the 2nd season before the new one started. When Aunt Ada announces she is now a millionaire, Marion Brook said something like "You mean nothing will change and everything stays the same?" Which pretty much sums up almost all the story arcs on this show.

Looks like Season 3 will spend a good bit of time focusing on the Russell's mousey daughter and her supposed betrothal to the Duke.

I'd rather see more about George Russell and his business dealing in the Wild West.
