Any recommendations for things to do around Big Bend? Family is planning to bring the Camper out there next Mardi Gras week. Looks like are food options are limited.

Good BBQ spot in Terlingua, DBs BBQ
The park is great, I recommend camping around Chisos Basin
We took a paddle boat ferry across the Rio and rode donkeys into Boquillas
Hot springs on the Rio are cool, great overlooks everywhere

Starlight Theater in Terlingua.
Have fun. Such a great time out there. So relaxing. It’ll add years back to your life.

plus there was a horrible fire there a few years ago, the year after we went actually. The fire started in the campsite we used (SR4). It’s a shame but it will recover. That was probably our favorite hike ever taken.

I took the family this past winter. One of my favorite places. If the kids are old enough for serious hiking, that’s what it’s all about. Mine are not. Bummer about Chisos being closed. Can hike up into the mountains from other spots , but likely requires serious back packing. Find a trail map and pick some hikes.
Ernst Tinaja is an easy fun trail, but road is rough getting there.
We did a canoe trip on rio grande through big bend outfitters. It was great, kid friendly and easy way for kids to say they have been to Mexico.
Plenty of good restaurants around Terlingua, but I recommend bringing all the food you need.
