For those who traveled to Glacier National Park, is one lake superior than the other as far as scenery and experience? Wife and I only have time to kayak one lake. Thanks in advance for responses.

We stayed in Apgar on Lake Mcdonald and I rented a little boat that held the four of us for a few hours. The view wasn't hugely different than the view we had at our awesome hotel in the park.

That said it was stunning the whole time. This is one of the only pictures I have that didn't include the kids or myself, so ignore the elbow at the edge.

Similar but bowman might be pretty. May depend on where you are driving from. Bowman is a little remote

Why not both?

Been to both and they are similar as far as lakes go.

- Lake McDonald is closer to a lot of other great sites in GNP.
- Bowman Lake is kinda remote (probably an hour away from ) but that is what we liked most about it (That and the Bear Claw from Polebridge!)

I vote for Swiftcurrent Lake in Many, Glacier at Many Glacier Lodge. This is my favorite picture of that lake (yes, I took this picture at 4 a.m. in 2004.

That is sad. That is my favorite place on earth. Best hiking trailheads from Many Glacier Lodge.

That's definitely the most spectacular scenery-wise in the park.

Bowman Lake, however, may be the most magical spot in the continental US.

Bowman Lake

Lake McDonald

Lake McDonald is far more accessible. Both are beautiful - just depends what you are looking for! Regardless - Headed up to Pole Bridge is a must! Very interesting road from there to Bowman!

Enjoy - this place is magical!

if time is an issue then kayak lake McDonald. It’s a haul to get to bowman lake (primitive road) that will take a couple hours driving
