What would you do in this rental situation?

I have been renting since I sold my house for a crazy profit and will be relocating inside of two months. Long story short, my HVAC at the condo I am renting caught on fire a week after moving in back in the fall. I put in maintenance requests and they said everything came back fine. I kept filing the report because it wasn't. Now as the temps warmup, the unit is always getting into the mid 80s and hit 87 degrees one day last week. They said all their maintenance checks came back clear and there is nothing further to do. Mind you, the high temp outside has been 91 degrees. I fear that when it hits 100 degrees, the unit won't be livable. What would you do? I have communicated face to face with management multiple times with the last one them shouting "there's nothing we can do, they all get that hot."
Is there a cheaper way to allow for some relief? Running the AC all day is doing nothing..literally nothing. I can not run it and it achives the same temps.

I mean, I am moving in two months. I would like to not be miserable for the two months either.

Buy a couple cheap window units.

I would buy one of those portable A/C units that sit on the floor with hoses running out of the window. If you don’t want it after that, sell it for what you bought it for when the first hurricane approaches.

If it's hitting 87 degrees INSIDE the house with the AC running all day, with the outside temp being 91, the maintenance checks did not come back all clear, regardless of what they said. They couldn't have. They just don't want to replace your unit.

I'd make them come inside and feel how hot it is inside the house. 87 inside the house is unacceptable.

I would request a copy of the maintenance check, or hire your own tech and have them test the system. Should there be any disparity, you could use that information for discussion with the landlord.
There's also a an Implied Warranty of Habitability which most states require landlords to keep rental properties in livable condition. Not sure what the tenant protection is for Louisiana.
Put everything in writing and speak with an attorney.

Are there no laws in your area regarding habitable rental spaces?
If you don't know, I would check that out for sure... I had a similar issue in BR a few years ago, and they said as long as it doesn't get above 85° inside, they don't have to try and fix the problem
Well 85° hit and turns out the yard people hit a rock into my HVAC line for my unit and caused a slow leak

Yes, I have my own guy coming in today. It is unsufferable. Even at 3:27 a.m., I struggle sleeping as it is just now getting to under 80 degrees. And it runs all day. I have all the maintenance reports on file in the portal, with the last few just showing open. Mississippi law is awful and does not provide any requirements for AC.

Hire your own AC repair tech and deduct the cost from the rent. Provide a detailed billing invoice. You are moving in two months.
