After playing four games, shouldn't LR be down to maybe their 9th or 10th best pitcher by now? And the fact that they were a pretty lousy team all year (losing record against mediocre competition), wouldn't that mean that their available pitchers are equivalent to decent but not great high school talent? And that being the case, shouldn't we hit the shite out of them tonight?

I get how an inferior team can get on a hot streak hitting where they just have that intangible mojo thing going on. But not so with back end pitching, right?

I'm not a baseball savant so please educate me, those of you who are.

Brother it doesn't matter we can either go up there with a good approach or we can keep doing the same shite and popping up breaking balls, striking out, or watching 89 mph fastballs with 0 movement go down the middle of the plate.

They could pitch Jacob DeGrom or some coonass tailgating in the parking lot and the results would be the same

It all looks good on paper but we have to play a game tonight on the field.
It looked good on paper last night as well

They will likely start their second starter, Kline, who pitched only 35 pitches in game 2 because he got roughed up. He’s thrown a lot of innings recently, so he likely can’t pitch for long.

It’s not about who they have remaining, because they have no arm talent that should be effective against LSU. It’s about whether LSU can actually hit the ball against anyone right now. They haven’t done it consistently all year.

People keep saying " They can't pitch for long"

Brother none of these guys are playing professional baseball. This is it. They will throw 200 pitches tonight if it gets them a W

It doesn't matter who pitches. Its surprising that people still dont get it. The real question is LSU gonna hit or not. This is an LSU problem not an opponent problem.

Considering the threads before yesterdays game already said they were out of pitching, they must be pulling in fans to pitch tonight.

Most of their arms are 87-92. Like others have said, they will throw till their arms fall off. Basically old school LSU pitching back in the day.

The problem is the batting order. If you would have told me that Curiel, Milam, and Hernandez would have had the nights that they had and we lost I would have thought you were crazy. I’m not sure how more people aren’t seeing this. We outhit them . The problem is the batting order and drive killers that are in it .

Could be it. I upvoted. In the end whatever the issue is, we dont put together strings of hits or big innings for runs. Tbh this problem kills the team in other areas like a disease spreading. I'm not much for moving the order when hitters are hitting(like a hitter lower in the order and moving him up because he is seeing the ball) but I am for moving batters down when they aren't thats for sure.

It doesn’t matter who they pitch , LR probably is one of the all time worst teams to be in the tournament, LSU should never lose to a team that bad.

They still have Nolan Ryan, Roger Clemens, and Greg Maddux available. In short, we’re doomed.

I agree. Those two rally killers being Jones and Braswell. I'd say take a chance on Reaves at 3rd and bench Braswell and move Jones to 6 or 7.

This right here is why I wouldn’t even blink if they started the best guy they have regardless of how many innings he’s pitched this weekend. I’m not saying they will do it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they think it can get them to a super.

At that point they’ll just figure it out and see what happens. Maybe they’ll get lucky again.

I’m sincerely not sure it matters. Outside of one or two, our approach is awful. It’s like they have their minds made up before the pitch comes regardless of the count

No question, but he sucked on Saturday after pitching a lot in the OVC tournament. He won’t pitch for long because he won’t be effective for long.
