Stanfield 6 for 14 - .429 (3 RBI) (3 BB)
Milam 6 for 14 - .429 (1 RBI) (5 BB)
Arrambide 3 for 8 - .375
Curiel 7 for 20 - .350 (3 RBI) (3 BB)
Brown 5 for 20 - .250 (2 RBI) (2 BB)
Dickinson 4 for 17 - .235 (5 RBI) (2 BB)
Frey 4 for 18 - .222 (5 RBI) (4 BB)
Hernandez 2 for 9 - .222 (3 RBI)
Jones 2 for 22 - .091 (2 RBI) (1 BB)
Braswell 1 for 16 - .063 (1 RBI)
Note that Jones was 5 for 8 with 4 RBI and 2 BB and Braswell was 3 for 7 with 2 RBI and 1 BB the two games before these 5.
If only Jones and Braswell would start hitting again, this team would be rolling.

Our 2 hole hitter is batting sub .100 calls for a change. Let’s see if Milam can stay hot and let him hit 2nd for a change.

There was thread earlier this week or last talking about if this team has peaked. I still think the best baseball has yet to be played by LSU.

Hopefully, the midweek pitchers he'll be facing tonight will help him bust out of the slump. Can't have him slumping like this going into Supers

Jared is struggling and maybe drop him to 3 or 4 but stop panicking.
Milam has struggled way more than jones all damn year and just lately has had a few good games.
I wouldn't mind seeing Frey at 2 and Jones at 3 but Jared has earned throughout his play all year to be at the top of the lineup. Even with a poor performance in the last 5 games

No

Why in the world would you put a hitter who is in a massive slump in the 3 hole? Momentum is huge in baseball and you have to let your hot hitters get AB’s.

Wonder if Arrambide gets the start today. Hernandez has been great. But Arrambide is hitting well and I'd want Hernandez fresh if we have to play tomorrow

Giving up on him because he's slumped in such a small sample size is fricking retarded.
I literally just posted an example of when he was slumping going into a top 10 matchup vs Tennessee and with one swing of the bat he gave you a win, we won the series because of that game and we're a national seed because we won that series.
You think he's accidentally 3rd all time in homeruns at LSU and the kid didn't start his freshman year?
Go ahead though- say you know more about baseball than Jay Johnson

How is moving him down in the lineup giving up on him?

None of this has anything to do with him being in the biggest slump on the team. If LSU is going to win it all he is going to have to start hitting a hell of a lot better.

This is true, but making emotional decisions over 5 games is also not a strategic way to run a team. Teams would be changing lineups like crazy if everyone did that lol. You don’t just move around like that unless there is a legit reason. And struggling for 5 games is not a legit reason.

No, it doesn't. My God.
He stays at two. He'll come around.

This is why I don't understand why Matt Moscona is so against bunting runners over with no outs. He doesn't even consider the hitter.

He has been struggling longer than 5 games. That’s just what the OP bases this thread on. I would like to see somebody with a hot bat in the 2 hole and unfortunately that’s not him right now.

Have you been watching what he’s swinging at? And the lost look on his face. No matter what, this team is gonna need him to snap out of it soon

Been saying it for weeks but I think Jones needs to be slid down the lineup. He's all or nothing and right now, he's basically nothing with his approach at the plate. He needs to be somewhere around the 5 hole or so until he gets his Groove back. I'd imagine they'll keep him in 2 hole tonight though in hopes he busts his slump.
The other night they walked Curiel to throw to him and they got him out. Absolute disrespect but it's indicative of how lost he is at the plate right now. Takes first pitch, swings at trash with constant SOs. He's not seeing the pitches at all and he'll often take meatballs or just not get solid contact on them. He's hurting the team right now as painful as that is to say. Hopefully he'll get out of the slump soon.
