Need rec's

Past Trip -

Eslie's - AMAZING
Chimes East - Being reminded of home was great, even if I worked at the original location circa '00-02
Parrains - We didn't go that night, but all of the outsiders loved it
Albasha - Always amazing with our G&L food!

I was there from 1983-2014 so any new places that come to mind, that you enjoy.

Roux 61 puts you into that Chimes/Parrain's model.
I like City Pork if it's not Sunday with the limited Brunch menu.

St. Francisville Inn or Restaurant 1796 if you're up for a short drive. Drinks in the speakeasy at Proud Mary's to cap it off.

had a really horrible experience a couple of weeks ago at Chow Yum. Roach crawling on the wall next to our table during dinner which i waved down the waitress, she killed it, and I quickly got over it. I understand Louisiana summer. But then a dead fly in my drink- in the middle of a full drink stuck between the ice. I can deal with a gnat flying in my drink, but this was a bug that obviously entered the drink while they were making it. IDK if their ice buckets aren't clean or what, but it was disgusting. Got the full meal comped and the manager apologized a lot but won't be going back anytime soon.
