I’d play Beaver Creek in Zachary twice. I know it’s not in BR, but close enough.

Or Santa Maria if you’d like a 6 hour round, hitting range balls on mats, etc.

The best courses in Baton Rouge aren’t in Baton Rouge. Maybe Santa Maria, but it’s too crowded.
From east to west, all similar proximity from BR bridge…
Pelican point
Graystone
Coppermill
Beaver creek
The island
These all have pros and cons. They’re all fun tracks. All fairly similar conditions-wise day to day, but conditions may vary.

Played Webb 2 weeks ago, for as bad as it has been in the past this was the best the greens have looked in the last 3 years. They were fast and didn’t have any sand. Bunkers still needed work, fairways were ok. For $20, I’d take that course any day for a quick round

I played Webb recently and the greens were terrible. I’m not sure what you’re comparing it to.

You were kinda being trolled on here to be honest. LSU golf course and Webb are not great options.
Bever Creek, The Island, Greystone, Carter Plantation, Coppermill, I'd even throw in Clark Park for a cheap good round only 9 holes play twice two different holes per green. those are real options

Beaver is best. Santa is great but like these guys say, insanely busy.
I guess I lol’d “two” because I get bummed at the state of golf here sometimes.

Webb is easiest to just get on and play with no hassle

The island,
Beaver creek,
Carter plantation
Are your best options

City park is a fun track, short good for a good stroll.

Pelican point is remodeling all of the bunkers and greens at the moment.

To be fair, he did say "public courses in Baton Rouge" and those are actually the only two 18 hole tracks in the city of Baton Rouge

makes me sad

Santa Maria, Clark and City Park are all in Baton Rouge.

- City Park is 9 holes and a short par 32
- Clark is also 9 holes and outside city limits
- Santa Maria is now on the border of Saint George and Prairieville.

All three are in Baton Rouge.
You can play Clark and CP twice.

OP asked for two public courses in BR.

I live on the Santa Maria golf course; I played yesterday and it took 3 hours 25 minutes.

This BS about 6 hour rounds is laughable; i have NEVER played a round at SM that lasted more than 4 1/2 hours and I play about 50 times a year.

It's a fun layout and you'll enjoy it.

With that being said, play 1 round at Beaver Creek in Zachary and 1 round at Santa Maria in BR.
