Only two grand slams ever, ever, were won by a player born in the 1990s

An entire decade of human beings are non-existent in the history of tennis. And with alcaraz and sinner (2000s kids), I don’t see expanding much if at all

Born early to mid 90s, no interest in tennis. None of my friends do either. Not enough action. Same thing back and forth. Don't have guys who are 6'5" bench 400 lbs and run a 4.4 40 yard dash with a 38" vertical. Not at all peak human physicality. I'd list those as the reasons why.

Tennis was at its greatest in the 70's and early 80's.

With a declining white population in the USA and more sport offerings than ever before, the "country club" sports are seeing dropoffs nationwide in participation and global success. This trend will never change.

Not everyone gets to be 6’5”, there needs to be sports for them too

But as for the OP, 1990s babies are 26-35 right now… should be in their prime right about now

Tennis is a tall person sport now though. Not exactly sure what his point was

Omce again, that’s an American centric view

Globally tennis is in a peak the last 20 years

With all due respect, tennis is gayer than golf.

What exactly makes tennis gay? Do you find yourself getting a hard on watching the men play? What about tennis makes you think of sucking another man’s dick?

Seems like there are public and private tennis courts all over that are almost all rarely used

I’m truly astonished people think this has anything to do with “popularity”

How is that link being drawn at all? Globally the game exploded in the 2000s

Also, tennis and golf have never been more popular in the USA at the junior level. Just thought this was worth correcting

Nothing to do with the thread either way

My guess was going to be Cilic and Del Potro, but I must have seen they were youngest to win a major at one point before Thiem and Med got majors. I always perceived guys like them, Dimitrov, and Nishikori as lostgen. It's weird that the window may be closing for guys like Med and Tsitsipas.

Both 80s born guys

For those wondering why this happened, it’s just the 90s guys were choked on the front end and back end by absolutely freaks of nature

Front end

Djok/fed/nadal

Back end

Sinner and alcaraz
