Who would have thought we would have had a shot at winning? I know we knew Kade was pitching, but still. 4 hits !!

This has been the case in almost all of our games. Pitching has been very good to elite this season.. it has kept us in every game especially on the road.

The maddening part is Anderson and Eyanson are absolutely good enough for a title run, but that is not going to happen. This team just cant hit.

This offense requires pitchers to almost be perfect.

The question is, how long is johnson going to watch Jared Jones continue to strike out? Why does he have to stay in the top half of the lineup while he continues to go through one of the worse slumps I’ve ever seen. Move him down to the 6-9 hole until he figures it out. Frey has taken over Jared Jones’s role at this point.

Yes. It’s baseball.

I think this team absolutely is good enough for a title run. People will downplay trying to lock up an 8 seed, but it factored in somehow. It may have been small, but it was a thought. Anyone that has followed this team throughout has seen the difference in home/road splits on hitting. It’s very important for the road to Omaha going through the box IMO.

Having same pitching coach two years in a row is a big difference

LAST WEEKEND:
Jared Jones vs USCe: 6/13 (.461 BA) with 3 HRs & 5 RBI. He also drew 2 BBs as well.

Regarding the strike outs he had a total of TWO (2) in the entire 3 game series.

Might be time to give Larson a start see if he can provide a spark
End of lineup needs to pick up pace

After LSU went up 4-0, I figured that LSU was done scoring for the day.

South Carolina is the 2nd worse team in the SEC. Go back and look at the good to elite pitchers we have faced and let me know how many times Jones has struck out compared to the rest of the team. Nobody will deny Jones can hit mid tier and lower level pitching but when it comes to above average arms, he’s dang near an automatic out.

But LSU only had 3 hits….

The first one by Frey where RF dropped it, was not a hit. Now they may have scored it a Hit- but no way a hit should be credited.

True but to be fair the ball Dickinson smoked at their SS was not an error.
