Currently have a discover credit card account and a HYSA with discover and they just got bought by capital one. Obviously too early to tell a whole about changes but for the people who have capital one what can I expect as far as their perks?

Been with Capital One for a while.
-Branches are hard to find now, ATM fees everywhere if you need cash.
-They LOVE to decline suspicious payments if you don’t call and tell them beforehand that you’ll be making a specific payment at a specific time. You know, for your protection. :eyeroll:
-They have a maximum daily withdrawal limit that cannot be lifted, only temporarily if you call in advance. Again, for “your” protection.
-They were a pioneer in early payday deposits, but that’s so common now, it’s not really a perk.

Nice flex bro

Letting everyone know your credit score is high enough to get a Discover Card.

Get a “360 Checking” account; it’s their “online banking” product. No foreign transaction fees and access to the Allpoint ATM network. For illustrative purposes, I’m currently in Taos, NM and have five fee-free ATMs within easy distance. There are several dozen in Baton Rouge.

I still use my “normal” checking account as my primary, but instantly move money into the 360 account as needed.

That is interesting.

I got my discover card in 1991 as a freshman at TAMU.

I had less than zero credit.

Well this sucks. I primarily use my discover because of how great the customer service is.

Yea that’s one thing that has always set them apart for me. I have never had an issue in over 10 years getting something done with them

I use credit cards from both these companies and have been pretty happy with them. I hope this move doesn’t change too much.

Discover customer service was by far the best and I preferred their app interface as well.

I have a Discover card that's been open since 1997. I have a reminder on my calendar to use it once per month so it stays open

I have a Capital One card and Discover. I like Capital One at little better because I get more cash back, but discover has the 5% back every quarter that I try to take advantage of. Discover has gift cards with more added value like 10%, 15%, 20% off. It is rare for Capital One to have a gift card go on sale, at least one worth getting.
