I loved the kid on the Pels and hoped he was here for at least one contract. He was a very good defender and still barely knew how to play basketball. He had nowhere to go but up with an elite 3position defensive foundation.

I get why he was traded but it seems that the Pels never get the good end of a trade or the draft pick that works out before they are traded for a guy who can’t stay on the court.

Hence the “lol”

Did at the time & still am fine with the player swap portion of the trade if you eliminate the New Orleans injury curse.
Did at the time believe we were getting the short end of the stick pick wise because I saw how good a fit he would be next to Trae (he even exceeded my expectations). Thank goodness Lakers were good this year.

The problem with him staying here is building a team around Zion (non-shooter) with Herb (non-shooter) & Trey (shooter) without a stretch big or a PG. Many ways that combo could work as long as Zion was swapped out for a PF who could shoot a bit.

So true, if you want a good barometer here and Saints Talk pay attention to the posts getting more downvotes. The contrarians are often correct here; the ticket buyers can’t stomach to admit their investment sucks.

Gayle, Griff, and Oschner are your answers. We traded Griff for Dumars it’s not getting better.

Ah yes! The far better overall player that we traded for got hurt along with our other top 5 players, meanwhile Dyson played horrible offense on a sub .500 team that missed the playoffs, but hey he got that first team all defense award and Herb didn't, who is clearly a bum and obviously all of this was going to happen and we knew it, we are so smart.

That's how fricking retarded you sound

Dyson Daniels has played the same amount of playoff games as Zion. And even less games than Herb.

Just take the L and move on. Lots of horrible takes that didn’t age well. You happen to have one of the many. It is what it is. I doubt any team would trade DD for Murray straight up right now if he was healthy, much less with two first round picks thrown on top. Going by voting, he’s the top perimeter defender in the entire league.

Almost 15 points a game on 49% fg is horrible offense now? Even Herb never averaged that much and he’s much older. If he’d learn to hit free throws, he might get to that 16-18 range. Guess that’s horrible in this day and age.

I just love when people double down on stupidity.

Acting like you were so right and victory lapping over a trade because they player you think is worse blew out his Achilles is one of the worst takes you can have in sports.

We will never know. It is not possible to know. But what is accurate is that pre Achilles Murray>>Dyson daniels.

The Lakers first is late and the 2027 is the less favorable between the bucks and the pels. They aren't the first round picks you think they are. Lower first round picks do not equal early first round picks.

A negative obpm, 59% ft shooting guard that shoots below league average from 3 is horrible offense.

Dyson had a true shooting of 54%, his best year shooting.
That's herbs worst year.

It is.

I really hoped the Hawks not even being able to make the playoffs in the shitty East would kill both the Dyson and Trae hype.

I don't dislike Dyson, but he's way overrated by his stans. He's still horrible on offense and has no starting role here, but will be demanding a $20M+/year contract next year?

You can't play him late in a playoff game b/c he shoots FTs like Shaq

As for Trae, another year where he proves that one magical run was an outlier of outliers.

It is a victory lap b/c I was right. Murray was the better player last year, but he will continue to decline while DD will continue to improve. This was true before the injury. He was the best perimeter defender in the league at 21. It takes years to master that side of the ball. He will be even better with experience.

I’m glad you can predict the future. The bucks will likely not have Giannis in ‘27, and will likely not be very good.

And counting on Zion and a Joe Dumars led organization to be good in two years? One that has been inept and missed the playoffs how many years in the last half decade? With the piss poor injury luck we have lol?

What do you think the odds of that are? Very good chance both are lottery picks. And as you can see this year, anything can happen in the lottery. It was a bad trade, and it will look worse as the years pile on like I said….

Are you saying we shouldn't have traded Dyson? Or that the trade for Murray specifically was bad?

The 2nd one I get to an extent. I think it's pretty clear why we needed to trade Dyson, even if he is an exceptional defender.

What are you smoking dude. Murray is 28. Hes in his prime. With how he keeps his body he wasn't declining any time soon.

I wasn’t trading DD at all. I wasn’t against trading for DM but only for BI, who btw the board thought had more trade value than Murray by himself.

I had no problem giving up Hawk, was never high on him. But giving up DD and two firsts was a stupid trade.
