I was looking at something today, and it reminded me of fishing with this old salt out of Fourchon.

He called triggerfish the “pork chop of the seas.”

Any of you old baws ever fish with Charlie?

Not with Charlie himself, but went a couple of times on one of his boats while he sat in the office and collected money. A company I worked with had a camp at his place; learned not to leave the minnow bucket in the water overnight because the otters could get them out quicker than I could. Also went with Steve Tomeny a few times on his Southerner, Louisiana, and Gulf Of Mexico.

His boats were a lot less salty than Charlie’s!

My brothers and I fished with Charlie quit often. He and Bobby Terrebonne (Grand Isle) were our favorite captains if we chartered.

I never did but have a photo of my dad back in the mid 80’s holding a lemon fish he caught. Lots of companies in the Houma area would book trips with Hardison.

Last time I went on a charter in the early 2000's I believe it was with him. We went out of Fourchon.

I went with Steve and/or his crew a dozen or so times back in the day. Always had a good time and usually caught a boatload of fish.

Steve had a legit ice machine that would drop a 4x4 ish block pellet ice from the ceiling.

Myself and one of Charlie’s captains were buddies. I could stowaway anytime I wanted with them.

We would fish mangroves off of the front deck closer to the legs on the surface. Clients would fish red snapper off of stern on the legs close to bottom.
