My guess is because flag ball requires a very mobile qb as you can’t stand in pocket if they get close enough to pull your flag. Qb has to run a lot more.

I want fast, quick dudes. I’d probably change this, once I realize some DB’s can catch. Idk how it works in the Olympics, but every flag tournament I’ve ever played in, players had to play defense too. Is that the case here?

The more fun question is how the team gets picked. Tryouts? League selection?
A spring tournament to decide the US team would print viewership. Just let the players form their own teams and go at it
