Looking for an appraiser in NE La for our farm. Guy I used in 2016 is deceased I believe as his number is disconnected.
Costs from appraisers were all over the place in 2016, can an appraiser look at what I have and update the numbers?
Thanks

Sounds like you might be dealing with an estate situation. Not necesarily his expertise but I would say start with calling Jim Rolfe of Brown Realty. Think he can lead you to the right person.

2016 was estate appraisal, I’m trying to est increase in nine years. Investment banks have as I have been paying crazy money for farms in my area, I’d like to see how crazy.
Dirt on I-20 is plum stupid right now but I’m a ways from there, just irritated row crop.

Are they keeping it in AG or converting it to something else?

Go down to the assessors office in your parish and see what they have on file for your parcel in question and the last time someone was out there. It'll be different than if you get a fee appraiser but still some info to go on

The question is how close are you to Holly Ridge?

If it is an income producing farm you probably need a commercial appraiser. Probably the best bet if you are looking for big money for it. Won’t be cheap but probably worth it for an accurate appraisal. Find a good one.

Morehouse, ag only, what they were charging in 2016 was ridiculous so I can’t imagine it being less today.

Are you close to the souther end and HR?

I am curious if they are wanting the farms for a straight ag investment or for future development. A lot of uncertainty in US future commodity markets with SA becoming a corn and bean powerhouse.

Could be they plan to play the carbon credits scam. Or development is what I am assuming.

I have 37 acres of fenced pasture in North Central La, in the desired Lincoln Parish / Choudrant School District, we are 6 miles from Squire Creek Golf Course and 7 miles from I-20.

A guy offered me $10,000 an acre recently, it's getting harder and harder to turn people down at that price.

Ours is family land so I'm trying to hang on to it.

Same. We have an 80 that is close to where a new lake is going in. It’s crazy what some folks are capable of paying for pine ground

Are you looking to price the equipment as well or just the land?

If he has row crop ground in Downsville he's farming pine trees

Nope, row crop returns are just a smidge better than pine.
Thanks for the help, will contact suggestions and see if hat I can get.

Brown realty has 468 acres in Richland on Hwy 80 listed for $25,000,000; I’d use that as a comp baw. Shitting in high cotton.
