Anyone tried this?
Where you eat one day.
Then fast the second day.
Alternate days?
Any fasting experts here on the ot?
Looking to do a 21 day stretch.

It’s just a means to restrict total weekly calories. If you are disciplined during your eating days and don’t consume obscene amounts of food you will lose weight.
What’s your goal here?

I do OMAD Monday-Thursdays and then fast 15 hours on Fridays and then nothing on the weekends. I’ve hit a wall but it worked

Yeah, I am down 55 Pounds since the new year.
By cutting a lot of Carbs and portion control.
I dont want to strictly stick to this beacuse I am afraid of a plateau.
I want to not gain weight this time I am home either, before I go back to work.
Someone mentioned this alternate day fasting.
I dont know what to expect, But Im going to try.
Any OTers have any results with this method?
The Reddit Crowd says its the easiest way to lose weight if you can slugg it out.

As another poster essentially said, it’s just extending an average caloric deficit over a greater time frame. Could just as easily IF w/ OMAD and still have food every day.
I lost 50lbs w/ IF/OMAD/strength training/cardio in ~5 months then hit a wall. Had to actually start adding calories and carbs to continue losing weight

Just finished the first 36 hour fast.
Just did a re-feed and didnt over do it.
I feel pretty good and feel like this is attainable.

It's not as hard as it sounds
You eat last meal at night, don't eat throughout the next day so you're at 24 hours when you go to sleep. Then you eat lunch the following day = 36 hours.
Key is getting through the full day of nothing with water, coffee, electrolytes, etc
I'm looking at trying this approach 1-2 days per week soon since I wasn't disciplined enough to hold to the protein sparing modified fast

2nd Day of Fast.
Yesterday, I did fine the first 2 meals. Did not over eat. Watched my carbs.
Pretty Councious about what I ate.
The last 2 meals. Went off the Charts. Had some dominos, then a bears po boy.
Going to try to do better today.

Finished with 37 Hours.
Walked 30 minutes before I ate.
They say you gotta be careful how you break your fast, not to cause a insulin spike.
Trying to go 21 days.
Week 5/19
Walked a total of 2.5 Hours.
Fasted 2x - 36 hour stretches
2x - 20:4
1x- 16:8
Week 5/26
Walked a total of 120 minutes
Fasted 3x - 36 Hours

I'm a couple hours away from completing 36 hour fast
It wasn't as hard as I thought - key is you have to stay busy during the day
Ate around 10pm Wednesday night, worked throughout Thursday and had a black coffee, 3 electrolyte packets, 2 Diet Cokes, about 14-15 cups of water.
Hunger was worst between 4-7pm then improved.
Feel pretty good this morning - scale went down 3lbs in one day. I know that is not fat but I feel and look lighter and less bloated.
Think I will add this 1-2x per week to any cutting that I do in the future.

It feels like it last for about 10 minutes, then it breaks.
I dont fall asleep as fast. But I notice on the day of the fast. I have a lot more energy. Your right though about staying busy is important.
Also, I dont have to worry about eating for a whole day. Which saves a lot of time. Thats also half as many dishes during the week I dont have to do.
So far there are positives. It feels beneficical.
