Gerry Glasco should be on radar if we look for a softball coach

That guy is damn good.
Fricking Texas Tech is in their first ever super regional his first year there. And he did it by basically taking UL's team over there. He would kill it with our resources.

They have better "resources".

I might be in the minority here but I wouldn't hire or fire anyone until football season is over or we know how it's going to end- if Kelly fails again then fire Woodward and let the new AD make the hire.
Scott's liable to hand out a 14 year fully guaranteed contract with a 18 million dollar buyout for softball.
If Kelly finishes unranked again then you hire to fire Woodward. BK is untouchable kind of how McMahon was last year because Scott keeps burying us with these ludacris contracts.

yup. he continued winning at ULL after lotief was fired. This was the first year ULL has missed a regional in 25 years! all because gerry bailed and took players with him.
when i found out he went to TT I was like WTF? who ever mentions the sand aggies(that is what we call TT) in the softball conversation?
TT is nobody in softball. not a classic days gone by powerhouse nor a modern day powerhouse.
well they may be a contender now for the forseebale future. of course they threw a shite load of $$$ at Canady and stole her from stanford.

His donor went out and bought the best pitcher in the country.

This. This run isn’t all Glasco by any means.

Let's be real. They did it by buying the pitcher Canady from Stanford.

Glasco is a very good coach and solid recruiter. Last year's UL team (2024) ended Oklahoma's 71-game winning streak. He gets the most out of his players and teaches fundamental softball. UL ranked #1 nationally in double plays turned and top 20 in BA last year.
Glasco has coached at Georgia (2009-2014), Texas A&M (2015-17), and Auburn (2017) before earning the head coaching job at Louisiana in 2018. He made appearances in the Women's College World Series with Georgia twice and with Auburn. Glasco has never missed an NCAA Regional in his 16 years as a collegiate coach, including this year in Lubbock.
Tech made a home run hire, and 2 boosters/alumni opened the checkbook to sign players. Canady's NIL deal is worth over $1M, and she has 1 more year remaining.
UL's record this year was 23-23, the 2nd worst record and winning percentage in program history. Yvette Girouard finished 6-14 in 1981, first year UL fielded a softball team. Unfortunately, the record books will list Alyson Habetz as the HC. She inherited a program in disarray as 8 key starters left the program when Glasco departed for Tech. UL had previously won 89 consecutive SunBelt series - 11 years in a row. This year they won 3 series and lost 4.

Beth isn’t getting fired imo, not the time to be paying 1.5 million buyouts however if she were to get fired in the future Rick Fremin isn’t getting the LSU job. Melissa Lombardi, Marissa Young, Kenny Gajewski, Steve Singleton somebody like that would get a shot long before Rick Fremin.

Absent a complete meltdown, Kelly is going nowhere after this season. Some of you just have no clue how things work.

Beth isn’t going anywhere at least not this year.

He was at Auburn for a few months and the only games would've been fall ball.

He's a good coach but the Canady hire was much more important.

yeah Najaree Canady is why Texas Tech is so good.
Glasco lost a regional last year as a host

Write Marissa Young a blank check.

He’s also got like the “Bret Farve” of college pitchers.

He did it by going to a school that gave the best college softball player in the country over $1M in NIL for a year. Let’s see what happens when she’s gone
