Flagg, Harper, Bailey, Edgecombe, and Johnson should be gone by the time 7 rolls on by.

We're looking at the next wave which will be Maluach, Knueppel, Fears, Jakucionis, and Queen.

Most rookies do not come into the league as good defenders. Does he have the tools to defend? I’d say he does, he’s a good athlete with reasonable size and length for his position. Does he have the intangibles and the “want to”? Idk, that’s on the teams to figure out.

true. I dont think fears is a good defender but he shows promise and made plays on that end. Tre was lazy and looked very bad

Fears is a dog…not a perfect player, but I like him. Feels like one of those Kentucky guards who people nitpick but they are just gamers that know how to play

Noa Essengue could be in play at 7. Freakishly long and skilled, one of the youngest players in the draft. Would be a fun upside swing.. why trade for Giannis when we can draft the next one?

Fun fact: just saw his hometown is Orleans, France... it's destiny for him to move to the New.

Carter Bryant and Egor Demin are also risers who could shot up to the lottery.

He’s very interesting. He’s not as raw as many would think. He’s been incredible at drawing FTs. People would probably be pissed if we took him at 7 but he without a doubt has one of the highest ceilings in this draft.

You're not wrong, but there's a big difference between being a quality defender in college and taking time to become an even serviceable defender in the league, and then just being the absolute train wreck on the defensive end he was in college and ever becoming an even somewhat serviceable defender in the league.

I'll tell you what I saw from him on that end. Does he consistently have the want to? No, he's hot and cold at best. He's wired to score, but he isn't wired to defend. On paper he has the tools to defend, but there's a difference between being rangy and twitchy on offense and defense. On paper he has the tools, on the court he doesn't, defensively. He doesn't move well. He does a poor job not allowing dribble penetration. I think he does a good job chasing, but everything else off ball he's poor at. He loses his assignment a lot, does a poor job tagging and then closing. He gambles a lot defensively, but somehow doesn't turn the opponent over. His stock percentage was just 2.6%, Harper was 4.5%, Bailey 5.8%, Edgecombe 6.1%, Fears 3.6%, Kneppel was also at 2.6%, etc. So on and so forth.

Hoping for Kon or Malauch. I don’t think Tre will get the chance here to develop into who yall would hope. He needs a shite team, some leash, and some shots.

I think Joe Dumars already said in the NBA today you need 2bigs.The handwriting is on the wall.

What does Dumars know about the “NBA today”?

Seeing these two mocked to us the most. I’d prefer the big man, seems they go later in the draft than in years past. And if they hit can turn your franchise around. Him and Missi would be a good rotation for years.

Could be a long-term starter at 7. Center not as valuable as it was, but why not try to get a guy who could be a cheap(ish) starter

To clarify, I'm not hating on Missi, but he's far from a sure thing. Furthermore, you may be able to take Dumars' "2 bigs" approach with these two when Z is on the bench *or hurt)

I would be a bit bummed to get two centers that most likely roleplaying bigs in back to back drafts. Not as exciting

Tre J looks to be going somewhere from 3-6, his measurements with that skillset too good to pass up for those teams. So I think it comes down to two of Fears, Maluach, or Kon being there at 7. Unless Wizards surprise and take Queen or Carter, Essengue. Fears would be the most fun.
