No, not in one day but in all three days combined.

8 pounds a day for 3 days got you in the top 10 heading into the last day

Not a bad tournament right after the Lake Fork slugfest.

It was said that 10 pounds a day would win this event. I dont think anyone will get 40 pounds.

Man that town must be writing BASS some serious checks to get them to keep going to that shite hole every year.

I was there earlier. Even thought the fishing sucks they still had about 3 or 4k people. Had way more show up after the weigh in

I’ve enjoyed it. Straight up fishing in real sucky conditions

The kid who caught 127 lbs in four days on Fork weighed in a pound and a half the first day of the Sabine

Exactly. None of the live scope bullshite. You got guys really giving up before that tournament even started. Jordan Lee caught one bass on day 1. I can’t imagine he likes Sabine.

I actually find it way more entertaining. Guys are having to work for it.

The big bass are cool and all, but the guys leading and who will eventually win isn't just driving around live scoping fish in perfect conditions.

I would actually rather see them fish the most difficult places.

Agree, I would have way more interest if they threw in some difficult places more often.

Yep. The scoping kids are getting it handed to them. I think the fish there are too small to show up on the screen.

And I will confirm, Jordan Lee, who is not a scoper, did not enjoy himself there. Neither did Hackney.

Kyle Welcher is in 4th. He grew up in my neck of the woods in Georgia on Bartletts Ferry. It is similar to the Sabine as it has tiny fish and getting any big limits is hard which he does often. Id say Sabine is right in his wheel house

I get what you are saying about difficult places. What blows my mind is the weights the pros caught at Fork.

The average weekend fisherman would look at those weights and think, man what a great lake. I will head over there and catch a bunch of big bass myself.

After a few days on the lake, and a total of five to ten fish caught up to five or six pounds (maybe!) he will realize the reality. Mother Fork is a tough nut to crack. The local guides don't catch what the top pros just caught.

This. I love having a final day top 10 where anyone can win with one big fish. No FFS. Just dudes having to read the water and fish the conditions. I much prefer this to Fork, Guntersville, or the St Lawrence.

I’d really like to see them go out West or fish some more obscure fisheries where they haven’t been before.

Love another Bass Nation guy winning it. Lots of good fishermen in that trail. Never got beat by Schlapper, but did get beat by Will Davis jr and Tucker Smith.

I watched a little bit of the 2nd day, one guy was fishing a pile of shopping carts that had been thrown in the river.

Quite the contrast to Lake Fork

Huge music festival held at same place has something to do with attendance. It’s really a tough fishery even under best conditions. I think it has a place in their schedule forever.

I dug it. If anyone would have been lucky enough to catch a five pound kicker and four other one to two pounder they would have taken it on day four. There were so many people who could have won. Much better than the FFS wranglers even though the same wranglers fished here. Hats off to Kyoyo Fujita. He is a beast. He can fish any conditions.

Much rather watch a tough tourney like this as well

Harding was a great lake back in the day. Was always a good night tourney spot in summer. Short C-rig with a Junebug Zoom lizard never failed. ;)

I don't believe that. My BIL grew up there and stroked the fish in those marshes and cuts. It's just the fishery is affected by the tides and floods in the river. In the best of conditions at low tide and clear water, fish can be had. I'm glad in this case, fishing was tough. I so enjoyed watching a man fish around pilings of a pipeline crossing. We don't get much of that.

But not much of a contrast to Oklahoma's Lake Eufaula where they've fished before. That was an awful looking lake.
