Louisiana illuminator

It would be very hard to complain if you were under the threat of being sued or retaliated against.

quote:

“The Board regularly receives complaints requesting that the complainant’s identity remain confidential due to fears of retaliation,” state Ethics Administrator David Bordelon wrote in a letter to the committee sent Monday on behalf of ethics board members. “This is seen most often when a complaint is received from an individual who has information regarding a potential violation by a supervisor or their local elected official.”

quote:

Dickerson’s legislation would require the ethics board to provide the identity of anyone who reported an ethics complaint to the target of the investigation. Currently, the identity of a complainant remains unknown to anyone outside of the ethics board and staff, unless the person chooses to identify themselves.

quote:

Also, a large number of the ethics complaints would also have to be filed in person at the ethics board’s office in downtown Baton Rouge under Dickerson’s bill. All “non-sworn” complaints from an individual would have to be delivered by hand, and the person would have to present their government-issued identification when dropping it off.

That’s what unethical politicians do.

Any credible Republican candidate could 86 Landry in the next election.

When has Landry ever been a state legislator? Because this is their bill. As was the last one targeting the ethics board. Maybe they are tired of their antics, as well?

While LA Illuminator is definitely left of center outlet, at the bottom of the article it lists who voted FOR and AGAINST the bill. Seeing those names and knowing who some of them are…think I’d rather be associated politically with the NAYs on this one.

Forget who reported it.

Either the bill says it or it doesn't. Pretty easy to check.

Of course, but I always consider the source of a news report, especially when said source has a reputation of their authors "interpreting themselves" or letting their personal opinions bleed into what is framed as a news article rather than an editorial.

Now the author of the piece you linked, Julie O'Donoghue, I've found doesn't let outright leftist/communist believes pour into her articles, like other some Illuminator contributors do.
