Dishwasher not drying dishes

I would assume this happened to others, any times on how to find the problem?
With the quick search last night I saw something about changing out a flood switch?
I feel heat coming up through my counter top when it is running so I assume the heating element is fine…… I think.

There is typically a vent on the front that lets air circulate through during the dry cycle…be sure that is not blocked. Also, one time mine was not dumping all of the water out on the last cycle…I didn’t notice, because the water was perfectly clear in the bottom of the unit.

I had this issue. It took me a day before I figured out the Dry cycle was turned off.

I fixed this issue on a GE dishwasher by replacing the Dishwasher Flood Switch and Thermistor Assembly. I read it was the most common cause for that problem on GE dishwashers. The part was cheap and easy to replace, so I gave it a shot and it worked.
In my case, not only were the dishes not drying, the water wasn't getting very hot. The water should be hot enough to steam up your glasses if it's functioning properly.

Disclaimer...I have no idea if this is an actual fact or just dumb luck, but I have found that the more plastic dishes and storage containers we have in the dishwasher, the worse the drying function works. If we have nothing but glass and metal in there, they seem to get dry. If we clean out the fridge and load the top rack with all of the empty storage containers, we have to bring a towel when that dishwashing cycle is over.
Again...this could all be in my head. It just seems this way to me.

certainly true as those containers have ridges that collect water. also, the plastic does not hold heat like glass, so less evaporation from their surfaces.

I never use the heat dry cycle
Just let them air dry

I have the cycle run before I go to bed in the evening. Once it is complete I open the door and place a small desk fan on the backside of the door pointing into the dishwasher. The next morning everything is dry.
