I used to love his music too, but injecting politics at your concerts really rubs me the wrong way.

Exactly. Same for sporting events. You're paying for a performance. These events are for people to get together for a common purpose (love of team, band, etc.) and it matters not what your political leanings are,

Whenever these Kooks and Nutbars in the music industry do this, I immediately think it's either misdirection to run cover for their own heinous behavior or there's a simple whiny juvenile reason. It's almost always one of the two.
For example, Steve Earle's father was an air traffic controller who illegally went on strike in the 1980's and put the country at risk. He was fired by Ronald Reagan, exactly as Reagan said he was going to do. Steve Earle spent the next 40 years singing Copperhead Road in between incessantly mumbling and crying into microphones about Republicans while doing heroin. Your dad was stupid Steve, get over it.
Then in terms of misdirection, you have "punk" band Anti-Flag, who spent 25 years visciously hating Republicans while grandstanding and moralizing as male feminists and becoming millionaires. Then it turns out their singer was using the nice guy to card to forcibly have sex with young girls at every tour stop (yes, the R word). The band knew for years. Instead of facing the music, they just broke up, slithered away with their money and deleted all of their social media so they wouldn't have to answer for their idiocy.
More often than not, the uber loud musician crowd exhibiting extreme hate for the conservative half of the country is an attempt at a moral cloak for things they have done themselves.
