Just curious, what age or election cycle did you start actively following politics

I’m in my 50’s and remember when election night came on, there was nothing else to watch on tv, because there were only 3 channels. I believe I actually started watching and following closely during the Clinton/Bush/ Perot elections in early nineties. Just curious about other people Thanks in advance for any feedback

Reagan's first election

I remember that election. All I heard was Reagan would get in a nuclear war, but I was more interested in sports and girls at the time, than politics. If you don’t mind my asking what age were you at that time?

I'm in my late 50's. I voted every time. I really started following politics however during Bush and Gore recount.

At about 10 years old with the Jimmy Carter election. I remember there was a commercial of all of these Georgia people saying that while they would love to have a president from Georgia, this idiot Jimmy Carter is not the one. The country should’ve listened.

I remember that election as well, we had an elementary school election and Carter won. Wasn’t based on policies but rather southern boy vs Ford, a yankee

Just curious, was that a republican presidential primary? Never heard of Numphrey, but I was barely alive then.

BC (Before Clinton) I paid little attention to politics and pretty much cruised thru LSU in the '80s. Thanx to media indoctrination I was pretty much a "Go along w/the Liberals" type.
Then came Clinton. He was such a scumbag, yet the MSM pushed him like the Messiah. I began to see just how biased and corrupt the system was. I started listening to Rush Limbaugh. He covered stories the MSM ignored or ridiculed.
Also around this time we began hearing about something called "Political Correctness", now known as Woke. An Orwellian seizure of power - cultural as well as political - by the left.
There is an old saying that there is one decade in your life that shapes you politically. For me it was the Clinton years.

Clinton/Bush
The longer Clinton was in office, the more conservative I became.

Reagan vs Carter 1980

I’m 43 and never really cared much for politics. Probably when Trump won his first term and I saw how crazy the left was and how childish they acted.
I did not vote because I figured Hilary would win and I was at the deer camp for that week. I remember staying up late to see who won and was shocked when Trump won.

I really didn’t give two shits about it until Obama, couldn’t stand him.
Then when they started attacking Trump by arse got red.
I need to stop paying attention, it pissess me off seeing the idiot Democrats and their propaganda machine oppose everything our President tries to do.

In my 50s, not much. Followed Ron Paul for just a little bit. Kept up with Trump here and there first go around. The day he got shot, I became hard core MAGA. I liked him beforehand but I’m just not a very political guy until that day.

I was in kindergarten in '88... our mock election was based on chocolate glaze donuts vs sprinkle donuts, can't remember which candidate was which donut.
After '88, 2008 was my first time getting interested in presidential politics.

I can remember getting into it watching Rush's tv show for Clinton vs Bush in my dorm room.
