Does Chad Jones count?

He never came directly from the field to relieving though. Buzzy Haydel was randomly used as a reliever for a spell in 09 as well.

I remember an outfielder back in Skips days. Think it was Will Hunt or something like that.

Will Harris more than likely went from 3B to the mound in a few games under Smoke.

Theriot pitched once.

In 1990, we had an Iron Man night. Keith Osik played all 9 positions in a mid week game. So he pitched an inning.

Remember when Paul would randomly use Colin Strall as a backup 2B?

That was weird.

Does Will Hellmers count.

Began as a 3B and was a reliever in Chapel Hill.

Reason why I asked , back in Skips day and to some extent Pauls day players came out of high school routinely doing both . More specialized now perhaps .

This is still the case in high school. Chances are that your best pitchers are also some of your best hitters too.

I love shite like that and wish we would try to do it in a midweek once a year.

Of course, if we were to lose said game, people would bitch about it until Jesus comes back.

I started to say Bain, but didn’t he just DH?

The Dreadlocks of Doom was one hell of a set up man in 2009.

One of the Harris boys would come in and pitch some too.

Who was the best high school pitcher in the state of Louisiana in 2023?

Will Harris was a two-way player. Pitched in the Majors for several years as a bullpen arm.
