For those who remember this dude, in a way it’s surprising because he was so young, but in another way it isn’t because he abused his body worse than Mick Foley in the ring and he also lived hard outside it.

Yes, he definitely went out on the sword in his retirement match vs. Joey Janela. RIP to a true legend. He and Terry Funk are probably painting the gold streets red in a barbwire deathmatch upstairs.

And Sabu’s uncle, the Original Sheik, is running around trying to stab someone with a pencil.

I think the Original Sheik's Dark Side of the Ring episode drops this week.

It's surprising Sabu made it to 60. RIP. This dude just did a springboard moonsault with a chair on St Peter.

I was there. Wish I would have checked it out on the Network to see if I made it on camera. I was on camera when they went to Chalmette.

I just remember the Paul Heyman Promos:

"He is homicidal.
He is suicidal.
He is genocidal."

May he rest in peace.

The Sheik episode of Dark Side was solid and Sabu is featured extensively which made it kind of poignant, especially when he broke down crying and said Sheik was more a father than an uncle to him. (Sabu’s father, who married Sheik’s sister, was a POS who abused his wife, resulting in Sheik showing up and beating the s**t out of him a la Sonny Corleone to the point where he’d literally hide under the bed from him.)
