Looking to take my three boys on a trip this season. They are all new to hunting so would rather not be part of a large group. Any suggestions

Thanks

Lot of different outfits, both in Stuttgart area as well as NE Ark. The last few years, unfortunately, most (but not all) outfitters are running huge groups in lined up in A frames. Like 15-20 people. Changed the limit to 3 from 2. Not a huge fan of either. It sounds like Vietnam. They are hammering them, especially with lack of ducks last few seasons.

When they find a good field, they will run 2-3 large groups a day from the same field after limits

Most of the best outfits are running big groups for specks. We run some small groups but it's more hit and miss.

Apparently Arkansans want to do to speckled bellies what SW Louisiana did to theirs. Guess the Specks will start putting the brakes on in Missouri in the coming decade. Outfitters ruin everything fishing or hunting doesn’t matter they don’t care. Virus.

On the deck outfitters.

Dusty and stacy are top notch.

Unfortunately, this is true. Some of those Arkansas guides come down here for teal season and do the same thing. Pile up as many people as they can on a levee. It’s all a money grab to them.

Go to Gueydan instead if you can

Early season is when you'd want to do it to ensure success, and basically everyone runs huge groups early season, especially now that its a shorter early season than previously I think. Would not recommend that.

Go with someone known in Gueydan area and have the whole season to choose from, subject to their openings.

*Edit to also rec Top Gun guide service in north La, good people, as an alternative to Gueydan but still in state.

If you aren’t stuck to ark, I’d hunt Louisiana if you don’t want to get your kids in a big group. Most of the arkie guides are gonna shove as many people as they can get into some a-frames. Sportsman charters in gueydan, Top Guns in Mer Rouge, and specklebelly hunting club in welsh are all top notch from what I’ve heard.

There’s a few outfits in Arkansas that still do it the right way.

On the deck and goose busters are 2 that come to mind.

Sportsman in gueydan is no better than what the Arkansas cheesedicks do.
