The sole reason you bunt a runner from second to third with no damn outs is because it gives you a ton of options to be able to score that runner from third. Why fricking bunt again with all those options available? Ground ball scores a run, fly ball to the OF scores a run.

After he whiffed on strike 1 I don't blame Frey for not extending his lead.

Then he shouldn’t be in the game!!! We are acting like Braswell is the only player that can play 3rd. It is unacceptable how often we bunt to score a run, and it is even crazier how often it doesn’t work

Coach likes the cute play. He probably is mad bunt just was not deep enough. I agree we should have let braswell loose there due to so many ways. That and a strikeout was about the only way not to get a needed run. I like the chances better not bunting there.

You think a double play is easier to turn than purposely placing the ball 5 feet away from the most important base runner on the field?

All I said was there was a possibility of a DP. I don’t know where you are getting I said anything else? Sober up.

I wasn’t wanting him to bunt because he sucks; he is a good hitter. But we had a guy on first and one out. A double play ends the inning. At that point, squeeze the guy home and be done with it. You knew this was going to be a low scoring game.

Bunting is stupid

Dickinson showed that even in what people consider an obvious bunt situation

I am by no means an anti-bunt guy and can certainly appreciate small ball, but I will admit that I’m to the point now this particular season where I am now definitely anti-bunt unless it’s 7th-inning or later.

In other words, when it gets to the point you absolutely have to have only ONE run to tie or win the game late, then I’m totally fine with playing for one run. But early in a game when a mere one run isn’t urgently needed, I’d rather play for a crooked inning instead of giving up outs for the possibility of a mere one run.

agreed. bunts are for when your worst hitter is up with a man on and no outs in the 10th inning.

Who's better at 3rd right now? If you saying he shouldn't be in the game because he can't hit... then you'd replacing several players that are in slumps.
