Major Dutch posted that the Trump Administration was CONSIDERING (?) releasing the tape of Sleepy Joe's special counsel interview. This reminded me of the many things that Republicans wanted to see or know, but were blocked by the Biden Administration.

They will never release anything of any substance that we don't already know. Neither side of the isle ever will. It is kind of like the nuclear mutual assured destruction. Both sides have damning evidence on the other so no one will ever push that button.

You might be right.
Also I think there's the fear that it would further undermine the public's confidence in "our" institutions. I think it's just the opposite.
More transparency might restore confidence. For instance, if we knew that the FBI had taken action against the Richmond Field Office for seeking to infiltrate Catholic churches, that would show some seriousness about reform.

I agree with you about more transparency perhaps restoring confidence. I'm of the mind that everything should be exposed to us, blow this mutha up! Show us how the sausage is made so we can accept, bless, or correct. We're heading in the wrong direction and things need to change, no matter who it crushes.

I would say "chose not to do so," as in they have chosen not to do so at all, ever, is not true. We're not even four months into his term yet. They're still uncovering a lot of this stuff to the full extent and reading through classified documents etc. If we're a year into this, two years and none of that info has come out, then I'll share your opinion that they have chosen not to and we are never going to see that information. But not even four months into his term, is a little too quick for me to jump to that conclusion yet. Though, Bondi did frick up with her statements about the Epstein files being on her desk. That all was either a big frick up thinking the outgoing FBI field office folks were cooperating, or a big lie on her part. The press release with the binders and social media influencers celebrating her announcement was cringey amateur hour shite that missed the mark big time.
