Any signs that Congress will approve all the DOGE cuts?

It’s clear that Trump is as vulnerable as others with the use of executive orders. So it’s also clear that he needs Congressional approval to pass SCOTUS review of the DOGE acts or least to insure success when Dems sue.
So what is being done by Congress to ratify the DOGE appointment and its cuts? I don’t see anything but others who watch more might know more. The Louisiana delegation doesn’t seem to be doing anything.

Glad to finally see the challenges to EO. Makes it harder for when the Demos have the presidency. Plus, it starts to reign in executive power. We are way off base from the Constitution.

Well then it’s time to ramp up our pressure on the GOP to get it done before Trump leaves. Pass the cuts AND the savings in taxes so Dems and GOO have to raise taxes to screw us again on fraud waste and abuse of OUR money!

What evidence do we have that Trump supports any cuts whatsoever?
His first term?
Or was his proposal to increase military spending to over $1 trillion?
Or was it his refusal to reform SS & Medicare?
Trump hasn’t even suggested we go back to Pre-Covid level spending, yet he constantly criticizes those who want to return to pre-COVID spending.

We only have until midterms, and if Johnson and Thune stall till after, 28' will be a bloodbath for the right.

Congress has not done zero based budgeting for 20 year, so the specific items being deleted were never the subject of congressional approval. I do not think Congress should have any approval for removing expenditures that did not actually get approval in the first place.

His appointees with a designated task have cut 160 billion so far. What problem do you have with that?

They’re redirecting the funds in some cases, they ain’t cutting shat

company I used to work for had expenditure authorization limits for each level in the organization. I have never heard of a govt employee having authorization limits. Is that done? Giving 500 million to an ngo should require a visible high level sign off, Maybe a cabinet person with personal responsibility for waste fraud abuse.

What kills me is the GAO that is a governmental agency watchdog that both dems and GOP support has already said we have 200 billion in wasteful spending. DOGE only says 160 billion so far. So our own government agency is suggesting more cuts than DOGE and has for years but both Dems and GOP have ignored it!!!

EOs are for narrative and show.....the next resident normally reverses them, and few get codified....it's called American politics.

That $160 billion that DOGE “cut” was simply re-allocated. In other words it was still spent.
That’s why the deficit will be higher this year than last year. Now that isn’t exactly Trump’s fault as it is still Biden’s budget, but there isn’t a lot of cutting in the “big, beautiful bill”.

Congress doesn’t do much of anything anymore except mainly benefit themselves.
No reason to expect them to start now.

The GOP isn’t MAGA. They don’t want to do that.

Congress WANTS the executive to have all of the power and responsibility. They’ve been voting their own power and responsibility away to the executive for generations. If you think congress will willingly reign in the power of the executive you’ll be very disappointed.

Buddy, Trump 2.0 currently sits at 140 EOs, demolishing the first 100 day record, and congress seems a long ways away from codifying any of it into law.
Our country's love affair with the EO isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Oh my sweet summer child
The same judges ruling against Trump will let a Democrat do whatever he wants. Hypocrisy doesn’t matter to them and they don’t give a shite about the constitution or rule of law. They only care when they can use it to advance their agenda and will shite all over it soon as it suits them

Republicans have already been warned, any that don't fall in line will face opposition in their reelection campaigns.
It doesn't matter if a frog runs against them, with enough money supporting the frog, the incumbent will have a hard time being re-elected.
