Williams UCONN recruiting video

This video https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/how-uconn-secured-the-future-of-their-program-with-serah-williams/vi-AA1DLeLb#detailsLINK was posted two days before the Serah Williams commitment announcement. Seems like somebody knew something at least a week ago. It would have taken a little time to produce this and gain approval before posting it. The usage of past tense, as if "she'd already committed," explains the strange silence around her visit, etc., polar opposite to her LSU visit.
Maybe her "agent" used LSU to up the bag since it seems she's always wanted to go to UCONN (attending their games, etc.) Even UCONN fans thought it strange and premature that this video was posted prior her "announcement" of the commitment, but possibly the commitment was already made. Note the very long time it took between LSU's visit and UCONN's, giving UCONN a lot of time to counter LSU's strategy, or get the extra money. I realize this is speculation, but you never know in the recruiting world.

Probably not far from the truth. Didn’t seem like there was ever any real smoke about her coming here.

Once she left the visit at lsu and you didn't hear anything for a week you knew she wasn't coming here.
Mulkey whiffed in the portal last yr and this yr has been better but would've been nice to get that cherry on top.

Yeah, I think most of us assumed that. Especially once Fulwiley committed. Sometimes they like to hold off a committment to announce together, so once that didn't happen I assumed it was unlikely.

This video seemed silly though. Stars can star wherever they go. Especially at any elite program. They showed her how former players blocked a lot of shots so she can too.
Of course she can. She's tall.

Her eyes said it all in the uniform photo.
We knew it was an uphill battle though.

Chalky, Kim didn't whiff last year. She had couple scary health situations so she couldn't do much. After she recovered, she went on multiple visits and pulled the #1 recruiting class. It happens, sometimes you lose 1 or 2 good ones from the transfer portal. But she did fine job getting 3 top players from the portal this year.

I wish Serah the best. With all due respect, Fulwiley (of the two) was the bigger get for LSU’s program. She is a game changer and her commitment was quite newsworthy relative to Serah’s. Fulwiley was an absolute LSU killer at South Carolina. LSU’s team will be very fun to watch next season and is stacked with talent. We’ll see if Coach Mulkey adds another front court player before next season. The Lady Tigers will be just fine.

Yea, I don't agree with that. Fulwiley is a more EXCITING player than Williams. But, Williams is at a position we needed more. I think Fulwiley can be a good fit at PG, while sharing the minutes there with Richard. But we don't have ANYONE on the roster like Williams. Her presence would've alleviated a lot of pressure on Koval and Knox, for that matter.

False

There isn’t another player like Fulwiley in NCAA WBB. She’s a natural PG, and a prolific scorer at a position of great need at LSU. Fulwiley’s skill set will allow LSU’s offense to thrive. Also, don’t sleep on Amiya Joyner. She’s a very skilled post player. Coach Mulkey has a plan. I trust her.

No, there's no evidence that she's a "natural point guard". I think she can BECOME a good point guard, but as of now it remains to be seen. She's careless with the ball and hasn't shown propensity to be a ball distributor, other than trying to wow the crowd with a pass. It WILL take a shift in mentality for her to master the position. I believe she can do it, but we could've had Richard start there this season and been fine. Again, there's NO ONE on our roster like Williams. Having her would've made us an instant final four contender. As the roster looks right now, it looks like another elite eight at the most, for the coming season.

So many negative comments from our fans. We are all coaches now. Let's set up a meeting between you and Coach Kim so you can tell her that she didn't do good job with the portal, and that she won't make it past Sweet 16/Elite 8.

Two things can be true. Having a dynamic scorer at the point is something we were missing. We were also missing a dominant Forward/Center. On top of that, depth at the position.
