What is your best set up for regulator and burner to boil crawfish? Right now I always run into the issue of the burner cutting off. Will a bigger tank help? What do you all recommend.

Thanks.

Is the tank freezing up?

Yea. The tank freezes in the middle, which i assume suggest a flow issue? Pulling too hard? Would going to a 10 gallon tank help? Or even 7.5?

I have a 60psi regulator similar to this setup (LINK and it rips. I bought the pieces separately from Ace and I’ve got a stainless hose. Much better than the stock Bayou Classic regulators. Tank freezing up can be solved by setting it in a Rubbermaid with some water in it.

I do like that and was seeing some past threads where people were using that regulator. When you do it, do you experience any tank freezing? I understand what you’re saying about putting in water.

Get a double or triple burner and use a 10-15 psi hose. Water boils in 7 minutes.

take it a part and clean it - i have a duel burner and one of them wouldn't fire up last year. Before my first boil this year i unscrewed all the valves and was amazed at the trash in the pipes...used a bread bag tie to poke out the holes...burned great

+1. I was boiling for good friday and had this happen to me. Flame wouldn't roar like normal so I disconnected the regulator, Tapped the burner pipe, and all kinds of crap fell out. Afterwards it burned like normal.

I don't anymore, but I use a 40lb tank now. Smaller tanks will freeze up a bit if they're half empty.

Broke out a brand new Bayou Classic double jet Friday. Couldn't get any gas flow or get it to light. Ended up having to go buy a new regulator. I was aggravated since it was the first time I used it

I've had problems with several regulators. I ditched the regulators and just have a valve on my hose now. I didn't even know you could do that until I saw another guy's setup. No problems since.

Remove regulator and just use a valve.

Could you recommend a valve please?

Also, being that my main issue is tank freezing and shutting off, does anyone recommend a dual tank system with a manifold?

Regular needle valve works fine. I just prefer the high pressure regulator because it gives you a bit more control.

Understood. I guess my main issue is the tank freezing causing the shut off. I should’ve been more clear. I don’t necessarily have a need to get the water boiling in some quick time. I want the shut offs to quit happening.
