Leftists just discovered due process

I heard not a word when American citizens were being locked up in federal prison for years without trial. All over trespassing on J6. But yet they want to apply our standards to non-citizens. Crazy.

They were all given due process. In fact, the delays of those trials was almost exclusively due to the defendants engaging in so much due process that it delayed the litigation.
The issue with the J6ers was using pretrial detention/bond in a punitive manner.

Yeah, like the guy said, locked up for unjustifiably extended period of time, without trial. But sure, then they weren’t locked up any longer…..after they were locked up for an unjustifiably extended period of time.

Exactly why we need major bond reform to allow almost all defendants to litigate outside of detention so they can fight their charges more easily.

The “reform” necessary in this context stems from abuse of prosecutorial discretion. The defendants, in the vast majority of cases, were bondable. It was bad people who abused that discretion.

Our country has a specific “due process” procedure for legal entry as an immigrant.
