Remember: There's a lot of youth on this baseball team!

I spoke with a Royals scout who has and will attend a handful of LSU baseball games this season. Not to temper expectations, but he thinks LSU will be the team to beat in 2026. Baseball is a weird game, and you never know, but he does this for a living.

We are 32-6 this season. Still ahead of Auburn in conference after they swept us at Auburn.

At this point of the season the freshman that have played a lot are not freshman anymore. (Curiel, Schmidt, Rizy, Evans)
I do agree that we have a lot of youth to build on for next year.

I like our chances this year. A team full of hitters can be unstoppable if they get hot at the right time.

As one who is 80 years old , it’s always a little disheartening to hear the words , “ wait till next year”.

That’s everyone’s hope. Let our top hitters get hot especially Jones.

I've been trying to tell everybody the same thing... This team is very young.
There is no veteran leadership compared to the 2023 team. I blame the transport portal for this,

I mean nobody has any idea what rosters will even look like next year. We obviously will have back to back big time freshmen classes in by 2026 (2024 and 2025 classes are epic), but we'll still get probably at least half a dozen players from the portal too and who knows what it looks like there.

The lineup is not young, the staff, or specifically the bullpen may be, but the lineup is NOT young.

True. He was basing it off of the bulk of this current team being fairly young. Obviously, Johnson will add pieces.

that just means he loves the freshmen and sophemores.
which everyone should
Evans, Williams, Milam, Arrambide, Rizy, Williams, Pearson Brown and Curiel are all super talented looking players and should be good next year.

It was just a statement from a non-biased party. We're having a great season and should threaten to make Omaha. However, Milam, Brown, Curiel, Shores, Anderson, Schmidt, Larson, Rizy, Noot and Josh Pearson are all young dudes who are contributing already and if some juniors return, we'll be a really tough out next year.

Not really. We have a ton of upperclassmen starting.

I’m curious where Shores lands in the draft.
Shores is projected around the 70th pick or so which he could come back and improve on easy.

Next Year U!!
They’ll be losing almost the entire pitching staff for next year… There’s that.
