Week 5 Updates:

-Thank you for following this account. I’m traveling this week to some of your FBI field offices to gather information on necessary reforms, and to hear from the workforce. The Director and I have prioritized reforms while also making sure the work being done to ensure the safety of the Homeland, continues.

-I posted this last week but I want to reiterate it. The Director and I are working on a number of significant initiatives to ensure that the mistakes of the past are never repeated, and that many of your open questions are answered. We fully understand that some of the actions and initiatives we’ve taken may not immediately appear to fit into the puzzle. And that leaves a vacuum at times, filled by others. But accountability requires information, and people WITH information. I’ll say again, I’m NOT asking you to “trust me,” because I’m not in the “trust me” business. I’m in the “show me results” business.

-Actions that aren’t immediately visible do not equate to inaction. And I’ll be candid here, it’s tough not being able to respond to critical or laudatory comments. But, that’s what I signed up for as an employee of the tax payer. I need to let the results speak for themselves on many of these matters because that’s what you’re paying me to do. I know you’ve been let down in the past. You’re owed better. And we’re going to produce it.

God bless America, and all those who defend Her. ????
-Dan

In other words…
Some people aren’t happy with folks who have been kept on or promoted at the FBI. So he wants us to trust him, which means those folks were likely forced to do what they did under the previous administration and are still worth keeping.

Could be some of it. I don't know, but I do know it will take some time to sort out the 39,000 FBI employees.

Nah, it shouldn't work that way. They're either soft and incapable of standing up for the actual rule of law, or they lack any conviction or moral compass and simply go where the wind blows. Either way, they're not what you want in those positions.

ETA: Unless you're the team in charge and you can mold and manipulate them into doing anything you want or need of them, and in that case their oath means nothing, and the people in charge are little better than any others.

True, 35,000 employees can be hard to manage. After all, how do you effectively monitor 25,000 employees. It’s important that the FBI keep these 15,000 employees.

None of this shite will ever be reformed and any reforms are useless unless the dirty cops involved are terminated and face criminal consequences if merited

Bongino worked to build a lot of trust and goodwill with his audience over several years and I don’t think he’d just pizz it away.

I’m willing to take him for his word right now and give it some time.

Lots of people teed-off and skeptical and I can understand. But being as there’s not some major players sharing stale bread with rats in Gitmo or standing on the gallows in front of a crowd right now here in April doesn’t make me believe (yet) that “nothing’s gonna happen”.

We’ll see how this plays out.

Yup, he ran a damn good podcast, but before that:

Dan Bongino began his law enforcement career in 1995 with the New York City Police Department (NYPD), serving as a cadet and later a full-time officer in the 75th precinct until 1999. He then joined the U.S. Secret Service, starting in the New York Field Office investigating financial crimes. In 2002, he became an instructor at the Secret Service Training Center, teaching criminal investigative methods. By 2006, he was assigned to the elite Presidential Protective Division, serving under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, coordinating high-profile visits, including to Prague, Jakarta, and Afghanistan. In 2010, he returned to criminal investigations in the Baltimore Field Office, leading a multimillion-dollar fraud case before resigning in 2011 to pursue a political campaign
