Their government gives them mandates to spend their money in X timeline or it becomes theirs. With that inability to save money, they're out jobs pretty much right away.

This is likely the explanation for the ghost cities over there.
Better to spend money to buy condos no one wants to rent than to give the money back to the government.

I feel horrible for the Chinese citizens that are being put under financial strain. Their leaders seem bot to care and want to try to hang on the thought they can keep taking advantage of America.
