What is a good company that converts books into pdfs?

Guy's son was murdered many years ago. He wrote a book afterwards but it has been out of print for years and didn't sell many copies. East Tenn wildfires destroyed his home, including all copies he had. So what company can be used to digitize the book? THanks.

I would think any major print shop would do it

Only issue is the bounding of the book will not allow it to lay flat on the scanner bed.
They do make book scanners but they do run some change.
This is a $24k model:
This is a $650 model on Amazon:

He could use an app like DocScan and make a pdf of each page. I use that particular app quite a bit with my line of work. It’s free.
Email the pages to himself in groups. I delete after a time and start over with my individual PDFs so I don’t know how many it would hold before deleting became imperative. You can crop and straighten easily and do multiple pages in a group.
It would be tedious but then he would have the book.

Thanks. I have that book Vidrine wrote about EWE but the binding is falling completely apart. It's out of print as is the publisher so I might have it professionally digitized.
I'm sure a few members here would appreciate it.

I honestly don’t have a clue but even with that, i would imagine a google search would give you a very quick answer
