Federal agencies spent more than $4.6 billion on furniture since 2021, despite WFH.

This is how the govt works
I’ll never believe whatever they say the debt is. The military opened my eyes to how much and how fast the govt spends money.

They showed no respect whatsoever for the American taxpayer.
I guess the question now is, what is gonna be done about it?

$21K recliners. Whoever spent our money on that needs to be put in jail. That is criminal.

They haven't since 1946, and nothing will happen, and nothing will change. The government will eventually grow so big it will die of bloat and rot. At some point the debt will kill the country and the generation most responsible will be dead.

I wonder how much of that furniture is in the homes of work from home employees.

They “program” money each year for certain things like furniture. It can only be spent on that thing. So every year the employees are told to go buy furniture. Whether it’s needed or not because if you don’t spend the money you won’t get it next year. And it might be needed the next time around. It’s a crazy Catch 22.

This is what happens when the Dems and Rinos are in charge: they steal you blind.

And this has been going on forever - I can recall from my earliest years people talking about 'spend it or lose it' at the end of every year.
It made no sense to me at all - even to a kid back in the 40s - but I had no grasp on the magnitude of the problem. Hell, back then the number 'billion' had yet to be a common word in use. Now we are tossing 'trillion' around as if it were a rounding error.
All this expansion in one lifetime.

And people think the politicians care about them, when are some of you dumb asses gonna realize, none of this shite happening is about helping you and me, to make our life better, It's all about them, and how they can enrich their lives, how are some worth millions on the salaries they make, they steal and cheat that's how, use your brain, open your eyes, they're ripping us off. when WE as AMERICANS not Democrat, not REPUBLICAN rise up to stop the stealing will it stop!

If we can simply print money to pay for the furniture without any consequences, then why wouldn’t we? It’s like free furniture. Creates jobs. And it’s comfy.

The months leading up to the end of September every year is the time of year you take those calls, "We've got budget dollars to spend. Can you give me a quote for ten XYZ widgets with those ABC accessories?"

It is fun to spend other people's money!
DC must be cleansed.

I remember visiting government offices many years ago and most of the furnishings were of the institutional variety…. Folks should really pay for the grift on the taxpayer…

Used to have to buy furniture made by Fed prisoners (Unicorp) unless O6 or above.
Had to have a waiver otherwise.
