I have some advice, take a deep breath, be in prayer, and realize we live in historic times. No one likes to be out of their normal or comfort zone but the truth is we as a country are being destroyed from within. Spiritually, morally, mentally, physically, economically, every aspect of our lives has been under attack for decades by every branch of our government. Elon Musk who has access to more evidence of the corruption and rot has said that if we continue to just go with the status quo’s of spending and corruption, we are headed for dark times.

The tariffs that everyone is crying about are very simple but do come with some risk. For decades our factories, our workers, our products have been tariffed by every country to the point where our middle class was gutted. In every large city people can name factories that closed and moved out of the country thanks to treaties like NAFTA, and both parties being to blame. Already you see companies saying they are coming back, which means higher paying jobs for our workers and the trickle down from higher wages means even more growth. Yes it may get bumpy but the rewards for leveling the playing field will be well worth it. Name me one plan, one idea that anyone in opposition has that does anything to address all of the waste, corruption, and abuse of our tax paying citizens. Have faith, God isn’t done with America just yet.

Let's see how many come back before we spike the football. With Trump being a one term President and depending on the industry, I don't think as many will jump back in headfirst in fear of a hostile environment after the 2028 election. One reason why "Drill baby, drill" will not ever come to fruition on the scale that many envision. There is going to be restraint.

That's an interesting point... Large companies may be able to wait it out. Meanwhile, small companies will struggle to compete due to the tariffs on their goods. Or maybe there a huge revival in this country to seek out MADE IN AMERICA and the small companies boom. I'm hoping for the later...

Every economic indicator that exists calls bullshite on this talking point in every way.

Those manufacturing jobs are not coming back in four years. You’re going to have economic stagnation until this or the next president ends these tariffs.

I'm confident it will work if allowed to play out, but not at all confident that people here wont sabotage the goings on. DEMS, JUDGES, RINOs will all try to frick this up.

You mean the bypassing of congress to enforce tariffs through declaration of national emergency and obscure law citation? One would hope the system calls this into question.

Tariffs are literally crony capitalism favoring select industry and hurting small business.

Same. There are no guarantees in either direction.

People have this choice NOW and they don’t make it. When people see the prices they’re going to start paying for things, they’re going to see Made in America as a cross they don’t want to carry, and should never be forced to carry.

How many of these higher paying jobs will have been replaced by robots by the time these factories would actually be up and running here? Aren’t a lot of these foreign factories starting to—or already have—replace human workers with automated robots who can do the same things but at a much faster rate?

I’m not criticizing the tariffs themselves yet—way too early—but I am criticizing the poor way they have been communicated and whether or not ALL the long-term consequences have been considered, not just the positive ones. Specifically the unintended ones, which I think have to gamed out over and over and over again before making such huge changes. And I’m not sure that happened. Not sure there was time for it even if there was an actual appetite for it.

But we’ll see. I’ll give Trump the benefit of the doubt. But the problem with having to wait long-term to see whether or not this will work is that it gives him even more reason to not ever give in, admit he was wrong (if he winds up being), and change course.

Sounds like a good opportunity to start a business in America making robots for the new factories. How ironic would that be?

You think like an entrepreneur, MAGA thinks like a collective factory worker.

Strawman.

I said it's more economically productive and the salary is commensurate within our economy.

The lower-level manufacturing jobs aren't worth minimum wage, let alone more than the McDonalds wages.

We already saw an increase in reshoring from his last term.

quote:

Reshoring Trends: Over the past five years, more than 90% of North American manufacturing companies have relocated at least part of their production or supply chains, with half of these companies shifting over 20% of their manufacturing and supply chain expenditures.

quote:

Trade Policies and Tariffs: The implementation of tariffs on imports has incentivized companies to reconsider their global supply chains. For instance, President Trump's tariff policies aimed to restore American industry by making imports more expensive, encouraging domestic production .

I got it. So if this economic plan fails, it's everyone's fault except Orange Muhammad's?
