Has anyone seen Hummingbirds in Prairieville, La yet this year?

Not in Prairieville but about 5 miles north. We've had a few around here and there.

We had 2 or 3 hanging around a few weeks ago but they seem to have moved on.

Had one in Shreveport feed on some flowering plants yesterday morning.

I live just outside of Prairieville and have seen them several times. They aren't hanging around the feeders, they just come get food and move on.

They should be passing through in stages.
The first wave are males hatched last year who will be moving North and East in hopes of finding mates.
Then the older birds will be passing through on their way. The last wave should be the ones who nest in your area for the Summer.
Plan to support each wave with clean nectar.
The first wave should have happened a day or two before or after St Patrick's Day in your area.
