Not a Cowboys fan discalimer
There's nothing that Dak does that Milton can't. They should trade Dak while they can and get something in return. But that makes too much sense, and they won't do it

Yeah don’t love this. Maybe this is as high as his value gets but it’s a Dirt cheap asset that I would rather give away for free down the road if it never materializes, then cash out the first chance offer on the table after a year. But pats do need as much ammo as possible to rebuild so I get not trying to make longer term bets I guess

Why would they not keep him in case Maye got hurt?

Bill Simmons predicted this, mates. I think he was hoping for a second though

It’s been an open secret they were shopping him since like November so congrats to him I guess

The Cowboys had four 5th round picks. They still have three picks in that round, plus Milton and an extra 7th.

They just signed Josh Dobbs

That's just silly. Milton is a major project

Are teams lining up to take on Dak’s contract?

Could've gotten better I think.

That's ridiculous. Dak is a year removed from being 2nd in the MVP voting (statistically should have won). Joe Milton is not an MVP caliber QB right now.

Brilliant! Trade someone and get something in return. I'll make sure to be on the look out for your future trade insight.

No one wants Dak's salary. But even if they do the cap for 2025 is set at $279.2M. If they traded Dak now, his cap hit would be $138.5M; almost 50% of the cap. Not sure Jerry's dementia has set in far enough for him to make this deal

Daks contract, besides having a no trade clause, is completely un-tradeable. Cowboys would eat like $100mm in dead money the year of the trade.

A 5th for a promising QB prospect that has some NFL tape is a pretty good deal. Worst case you have a cheap backup QB, which is what most 5ths are anyway if they stick.

That’s a horrible return for NE, why even bother?

Honestly surprised other teams that have a more immediate need at qb wouldn’t offer that. I wonder if he had some input.

Jordan Schultz saying there were better offers but pats wanted to do right by him
I’m sure the higher offers were like a few draft slots higher and not an entire round difference, otherwise would be silly to worry about doing right by a guy whose been there for a couple months and was a 6th round pick

Well there goes the Cowboys being my choice to move up and take Sanders.
