Brit Floyd Coming to Shreveport - Worth the Drive?

Of all places in La., they're coming to Shreveport (August 6th).
If I'm driving 4 hours (from BR), are they worth the ticket price and the drive?
I'll never see Pink Floyd or David Gilmour, so this is my best shot at seeing this music performed live.

Heck yeah. They're great in person. I've seen them three times.

The Australian Pink Floyd Show, which is supposed to be the best tribute band, is coming to Dallas on Aug 24.
They start a U.S. tour next month. Looks like that's the closest they come to Louisiana.

Brit Floyd is incredible. I've seen both Brit Floyd and Australian Floyd and to me it's no contest with BF being superior. Granted everyone's tastes are different. What turned me off from APF was that it was just eeeeever so slightly Australian which took me out of the experience a bit. Like for example instead of a big inflatable pig in the crowd they had a kangaroo instead. Cheeky and fun, sure, but not authentic. I saw BF on a Wall tour and man if you squinted a bit you'd think you were somewhere in England in 1979. Note for note perfect, stage setup immaculate, etc.
As for 4 hours being too long a drive nobody can answer that but you, but I would DEFINITELY recommend seeing them if you have the chance.

Thanks! Based on your user name, were you a pilot, mechanic or enthusiast?
The "speed check" is my favorite A12/SR71 story.

Just an amateur historian/enthusiast, I guess.
My favorite story is the A12 pilots making fun of the SR-71 pilots for "driving the family model" since the Oxcart was a single-seater.

They would be worth the drive if you are a Floyd fan. Really good.

Absolutely and the Municipal is a nice venue.

I'm driving up from Lafayette and willing to share a ride if interested.
Sitting in sec 105 which has excellent view and center stage sound
saw them back in 2016 @ Shreveport MA and was blown away , definitely worth the drive
the SMA has amazing acoustics and a great venue

I have seen both bands and have tickets to see them both in Clearwater this year. I like to see them both being such a fan but Brit Floyd is about 20 times better than Aussie. That happened when the best members of Aussie Floyd departed and started Brit Floyd almost 15 years ago.
Ive seen about 8 different Floyd tribute bands. Even flew out to Colorado to see Brit Floyd in 2016 at Red Rocks. If you watch the live Brit Floyd concert at Red Rocks on youtube, I was there. The lead guy for Brit Floyd is the magic man when it comes to replicating David Gilmour and his tuning
Go see Brit Floyd if you remotely like Pink Floyd. In my eyes, they are the best tribute band in the world. Period.
And if you are looking for tickets, I always buy my tickets directly off the Brit Floyd website. They are cheaper and with less add ons.

2 thumbs up for last night's show. Definitely worth a road trip if BF is playing in your area.

Wife & I had the time of our lives last night, what a show, blew us away!!! Brit Floyd is now at the top of our concert list anytime they are playing within 5-6 hr drive. Not a single note missed, payed wonderful homage to the original Pink Floyd members…& have to say I enjoyed their videos on the screen more than the originals in many cases. The chic singing Great Gig in the Sky was flawlessly powerful. Just terrific all the way around.

Have probably listened to their version of the Animals songs a hundred times by now. Good stuff.
