What do you think we will see out of Ju’Juan Johnson this season?

With the move to quarterback and Colin Hurley’s status unclear, I assume Ju’Juan Johnson and Emile Picarella will compete for QB3.
He’s electric with the ball in his hands and with the full time reps he’s getting at quarterback, do you think we will see some packages for Ju’Juan? Or do you think this is simply a depth move. He has been shown in some practice clips coming in for red zone packages. He’s also not wearing the no contact jersey that the other quarterbacks are wearing.

Adding a running threat with the QB in the red area is huge. You don't have enough hats to block traditional runs in that area so you have to equate the numbers.

I think he'll have some kind of wildcat package installed every week. I don't see him throwing more than 5 pass attempts all season, but some designed QB runs and/or zone reads would be a great way to effectively utilize his playmaking abilities.

Absolutely. They did it against Bama last year. Critical drive during the 2nd qtr that could have brought the score to 14-10. Play got called back for a hold by Will Campbell. Couldn’t find a highlight, but it’s at 9:26 in the 2Q (47:47 mark in the video). I think we will see a lot more that this year.

I just hope Sloan doesn’t get cute and try some 2 QB set BS.. put him at wildcat and take the numbers advantage in the box

Barring injuries both Johnson and Van Buren will only be available for 4 games as both plan to redshirt
Have no idea what Hurley status will be

Nothing notable. They aren’t going to take the ball out of Nuss’ hands
That would be foolish

Lots of Instagram photos and videos with Jada.

I expect that Mr. Johnson is positioning himself for the transfer portal.
If he covets a true starting QB position I doubt he ever gets it at LSU.
Get some QB work in this year, become known as a QB officially instead of an ATH without a position then see what you can get in the portal.
^^ I suspect that’s what he’s doing and why he switched to QB for this year

I agree, historically speaking, he is the type of player we will very rarely see.

Why does one have to “position” themselves for the transfer portal when you can just transfer? This board is so dumb sometimes

More accurate to say he’s positioning himself to compete with Van Buren for QB1 in 2026

He won’t see the field. Should have stayed at DB.

Maybe he should have,im happy he is a team player and wants to help his team win.

Neither one will win that job

We are in great shape at QB position this year. The less we hear on the current status of Colin Hurley, the more I think he won’t be back. If he does he will be way behind the depth chart and probably transfer. He may already be taking steps towards doing this.

Van Buren is a good QB who started 9 games in the SEC. He didn't transfer here to ride the bench. He will absolutely compete for QB1 next season

Out of all the HS players in the state of Louisiana, Johnson has the best offensive stats ever . Yes teams will load the box agsmist him but he has all summer to improve his passing is that happens look out your looking at a stronger JD with the football who excels .
