Mucho respect for Luis Hernandez

Hernandez is a tough dude who has taken some hard knocks getting dinged up and keeps on ticking. A drop in last game, but overall solid behind the plate this year, esp. considering he caught sparingly before transferring to LSU.
And in SEC play when it's mattered most, he's quietly leading LSU in homers (4) and slugging percentage (.657). A valuable pickup by Jay, who will continue to serve a vital role in the success of this team.

I love his home run swings. Pulls his hands so far inside

The dude takes a foul ball off the forearm at least once per game.

It was just barely, but still impressive that he kept that ball fair.

I don't recall a catcher taking a beating behind the plate like him, It seems whatever small area was exposed around the equipment, the ball found a way in.

The young man is a ball player without a doubt. Will be a key factor in whether this team makes it to Omaha

I feel like Papierski took a bunch of foul balls in 2017, especially with Lange’s hard stuff and Poche and Walker’s movement
