Let's come up with the best offensive lineup possible.

The only rule is that the player has to have played the position before.
Jones 1st
Dickinson 2nd
Frey rf
Brown lf
Arrambide dh
Curiel center
Milam ss
Reaves 3rd
Hernandez catcher
No particular order
If you think we could replace hernandez with arrambide and dh either Pearson I'd be ok with that
That lineup is capable of going yard at least 10 times in a season 1-9

Reaves 3rd

Hernandez has swung it well lately and had some big homers
Posted on 3/29/25 at 11:07 am to made4lsu
Yeah that's why I kept him in

I like the idea of seeing John Pearson in that lineup at third or dh and moving Hernandez or Reaves by putting arrambide at catcher and dh John instead of Hernandez but ATM I think Hernandez is a better hitter than John although John hasn't gotten many abs especially against quality arms
So I guess I'm saying i like the idea of getting John in there but i don't think i would do it in this scenario , just think it's intriguing

Or you could just straight up swap Reaves for John p but I just don't have a clue what we would get out of John if he was your everyday 3rd baseman in sec series.
I'm guessing he hits about 290 with 10 homers

You would rather Stanfield hit than arrambide? That's basically what it comes down to. Remember were not taking defense into account whatsoever.
Arrambide could possibly hit 18 bombs as an everyday player next year and maybe even this year if he played as much as Hernandez

Then why you got positions to the right of every player?

I said it has to be a position they've played before. I wanted it to be a possible lineup that we could play , I'm just not taking the players defensive abilities into account.

I don’t know if we’ve got enough information to say that Arrambide is one of the best nine hitters on the team right now. He’s had some great swings and crushed some big home runs, but he hasn’t been totally consistent and really hasn’t had a chance to show himself against SEC pitching yet. Obviously the potential is there to be elite.
I would be more inclined to include Larson in this scenario, as someone who has proven himself against SEC pitching in the past, but hasn’t really shown that this year with limited plate appearances. If we aren’t worrying about where he fits defensively, I could see giving him the chance to come back to form.

Then frick it—Bear at 3rd and Brown at 1st.

What have I missed that has shown that John Pearson is ready to be in the lineup every day?

We need to get back to working counts and drawing walks.
The 2 lowest walk totals of the year were 0 last night and 2 on Sunday in Austin. We scored 2 runs both games.

He has done the most of his opportunities, but he hasn’t had enough to be sure he could handle SEC yet. Maybe he can but will need some more SEC at bats to prove it.

If love to see arrambide and Frey both be in the lineup for next weekends whole series. If arrambide continues to hit the ball hard against better pitching and Frey continues his power surge , we could be even better on offense and definitely more powerful

Just for kicks I'll try and flip L/R as much as I can
Curiel - LF
Jones - 1B
Reaves - 3B
Dickinson - 2B
Milam - SS
Frey - DH
Brown - RF
Arrambide/Hernandez - C (wash at the moment, but Arrambide potential through the roof)
Stanfield - CF
You could make an argument for Curiel in CF and Larson at LF if Larson performs like we all know he's capable of. The key is both Frey, Reaves, and Brown all in the same lineup.
Pearson has not produced as much as those three.

Reaves at 3B is an easy one
Curiel at CF is the other for me. Move Larson to corner OF with Jake
Frey can DH since he’s probably the worst option in the field

In particular order: Lefty
Curiel 7
Jones 3
Dick 4
Frey DH
Milam 6
Pearson 9
Hernandez 2
Brown 8
Brassy 5
In particular order: Righty
Curiel 7
Jones 3
Dick 4
Frey DH
Milam 6
Pearson 9
Hernandez 2
Brown 8
Reeves 5
Only difference than what Jay has been doing is swapping brown for Stanfield and platooning 3B based off the pitching matchup

Jones has to know better at this point to lay off the first pitch as 90% of the time he isn’t getting a fastball.
He’s a known commodity and pitching coaches aren’t known to take risks with guys as aggressive as he is
